Seperate Schools vs Mixed Schools

Essay Question: There are people who believe that boys and girls should be educated in separate schools while others prefer mixed schooling. What is your opinion on the matter? Do you believe that Boys and Girls should be educated in separate schools or do you believe that they both should be educated together? Well, nowadays all over the world you have single sex schools with only boys or only girls and mixed schools with both boys and girls. Some parents choose between the two types of schools based upon them or their child’s decision. With children being educated in both schools, it has a negative impact and also a positive impact on them socially, academically, environmentally and so on. Many people believe that boys and girl should be educated separately on the whole while others believe that they should be both educated together. For starters, due to a survey taken in 2008 by the American Psychology Association, sixty percent of parents choose single sex schools for their child/children mainly for their child to improve academically. Most children in separate schools out do those in mixed schools academically mainly because there are fewer distractions. In mixed schools most of the students focus on attracting the opposite sex to them, focusing on their relationship with their girlfriends/boyfriends or focus on trying to impress everyone in the school rather than focusing themselves on their school work. For example, the girls would put on makeup and lipstick to look more attractive to the opposite sex and the boys would do the same always brushing or combing their hair and putting on cologne to keep up with their appearance for the girls. They both always try to keep up on the latest fashion trends to impress the opposite sex rather than trying to keep up with their school work.
