Year round school is also essential for teachers as well as students. Teachers, and students wont feel burnt out by April or May, making the production of both higher. In the following paragraphs I will tell anyone who reads this that the smartest decision is to be for year round school. (Year-Round schools Look Better All the Time, Pg. 1-2) A traditional school year would have a 180-day school year with short breaks for the holidays followed by a 12-week summer break.
I was in for a big surprise. When middle school began, I thought I was right at first. The work was pretty easy and if I failed a test, my teachers would let me re-take it. However, when the first semester
Year-Round Schooling Summer break is great. We all think so. But when you walk into Algebra 1 your first day back at school and the teacher says, “Pop quiz! Lets see what you know!” And that’s the moment when you realize that you don’t remember anything from the previous year. Year-round schooling is a better system than traditional because it’s better for students learning, it keeps kids involved and engaged, and, as much as this might surprise you, it doesn’t mean less vacation time.
If you somehow manage to wake up in time to rush to class, not only are you some sort of superhuman, but you can just take your sweet time. No parents are going to rush you anymore. Even if you are some miracle worker and make it to class, make sure to sit in the very back where it's hard to see and hear. Now that you have mastered the art of avoiding classes, let's discuss studying. Now for college classes, it is recommended that you study 3 hours for every one hour of credit that the classes is worth.
North was probably one of the best schools I could have ever transferred to because there acceptance of everyone is outstanding. See when you are a transfer student you have to come into the school to have a school tour. This school tour usually is scheduled at the end of an hour right before A lunch so you can see the halls during passing time, but also still get to see the students in action in their classes. So I was walking with principle at the time Rick Jones and my mother. I just remembering walking into one of the crazy connected art classes, wondering why they were set up like that, and seeing frantic students banging on metal.
It is your responsibility to read the syllabus • Respect your classmates by creating a positive learning environment. Show up on time and if you are late, enter quietly without disrupting. Using a cell phone during any quiz or test is considered cheating and will result in a 0 on that assignment. • Show up for class. Attendance will be taken at each class and will be used for student monitoring.
In my essay I will examine three things I need to do to change my attitude on my education these things are; go to totoring, study, and stop procrastinating. I am doing exceptionally well in all my classes except for one Ms. Boykin’s Algebra II class. It is my fault because I don’t wake up early enough to go to tutoring in the mornings. My strategy for the 2nd semester is to study and to stay on top of make up work when I am absent and go to tutoring to get help on things I don’t understand. Since high school I’ve been doing poorly in math but, I’m not going to let it get the best of me and I will do what ever is necessary in order to pass and graduate in June.
Teachers seem to be lenient with high school students. For example they may allow the student to turn in assignments late without any penalties. As a college student, the professors will not “hold a student hand.” The student is responsible for completing assignments once the syllabus is received. Procrastination is an easy habit for a freshman to begin or continue. College classes are scheduled for a student to attend class two or three times a week.
I know that with my high school requiring school uniforms I was able to wake up an hour later for school. Which was so much better for me since I stayed awake doing extra projects. With everyone wearing close to the same things, it is harder to guess socioeconomic background and discriminate because of it. Uniforms in schools have helped more children want to come to school since they know that they will not be picked on. One of my mentees told me that he would skip school because the other students would pick on him.
In High School teachers demanded you to use the 5 paragraph essay format. Every student in high school uses this format and will continue to use it because it was the only concept they were given in high school and they’ve gotten so comfortable with it. This format was so easy to use that students could easily slack off because they knew their limit was only 5 paragraphs but when you come into a college class you are expected to write more than 8 pages. The 5 paragraph format all you needed was an introduction, 3 paragraphs with 3 main points to back up your thesis in your introduction, and a conclusion. It was very plain and simple.
