Secondary School Dropouts

Did you know that statistically speaking, 3,030,000 dropout of high school, looking deeper into that statistic 8,300 student’s drop out daily. I have always wondered why so many teenagers dropout of school. Is life that stressful, or do they have that many problems in school that it is easier to dropout and not ask for help? Everyone knows the results of not having high school diploma, but why do so many teenagers continue to do it? I found out that some of the major causes of high school dropouts are because some students have to help their family financially, no adult support, and embarrassed to ask. First and most important, a lot adolescent’s dropout of high school to help their family financially. Sometimes when the parents die or on drugs really bad, the oldest child takes the role of the parent and may drop out of school to get a job. This minor may even take on the full responsibility of taking care of their other siblings. Also in some cases the parent could have a disability or maybe even too old to work. Furthermore, for some teenager’s this could be a family chain, they dropout to get a job just like their parents did to help out the family and so on. This is one of the severest cases for dropouts, others are not as harsh. Secondly, it can be hard for our youth to stay in school and focused it there is no adult support. Sometimes kids can come across those teachers who may half explain the lesson or the teacher may just explain it very fast, this could put a student behind. You may say well the child should ask the teacher to slow down. Even though that is true, in today’s time reputation is everything, so a teenager is less likely to risk being noticed by raising their hand. In the same scenario, when that child gets home his or her parents may be to involved in their own activities to help or to find any interest in the topic. Additionally, every
