Thinking and Language Reflection A) Individuals acquire and develop language through their cognitive developmental stages. Usually during our sensorimotor stages, language skills are now starting to develop. Cooing and babbling are types of language. Once we reach our pre-operational stages, we should have most of the skills to make and understand language for the most part. We continue to learn and strengthen our skills as we grow.

By developing a child’s speaking and listening you are supporting the development of communication as well as language; it covers what to do in a situation of a child having English as an additional language and what activities can support every child in their personal development. It gives practitioners ideas of what they can supply to make the environment enabling to their development. “English, during key stage 1 pupils learn to speak confidently and listen to what others have to say. They begin to read and write independently and with enthusiasm. The mechanisms of choice are PowerPoint, the Internet, dictionaries, text signs and written responses. Kinesthetic Learners: Individuals who prefer this learn better by doing activities, which helps them to experience/practice the concept by attempting to learn. The crucial point to effective learning for them is that the instruction gives them solid opportunities to apply the information. The best materials that meet the requirements of kinesthetic include simulations, case studies, demonstrations and videos. Multimodal: Learners might prefer a particular mode or a dominant mode; multiple modes are frequently used in learning situations.
His Sociocultural theory is a learning theory that looks at the important contributions society and culture play in an individual’s development. He believes that everyone learns on two levels: first through interactions with others, and then within the individual themselves. Once an individual can learn and acquire concepts with the guidance of other individuals, they will then be able to perform independently. (Cognitive Development - Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory ) Culture is passed on by three ways; one through imitative learning – the child tries to imitate or copy another
In order to thrive and productive in my career, GW will provide me the required learning about exceptional management and leadership. A college degree in Elementary Education is essential to me because I want to teach others the value of fun, learning, and the capability to be involved in exciting adventures throughout life. My personal goal is to obtain my bachelors degree in education. GCU is working as a team to help guide me through the higher education process. The team consists of a support system that can direct me academically and emotionally. The academic counselors are on hand to help answer questions, providing constructive criticism as well as positive comments and rewards.
As I reflect on this statement, I see the development of my knowledge through the first two courses. I have used several key factors gain through the communication class that helped me with my current role. In the communication course reading materials, I applied various topics while having conversations with individuals in my team this included techniques for active listening, and obstacles that affect active listening (Dobkin & Pace, 2006). Communication is a key component for future success and relationship building. My goal is to apply the knowledge gain in each course and reinforcing it in my professional career, and at the same time make a positive social change in my community.
These new realizations have been converted into the classrooms to better educate students. The correlation between cognition and learning is reliant, and learning cannot occur without the thought processes such as memory. The method itself fosters holistic, personalised and experiential learning. The learner is treated as a whole person since not only intellectual but emotional and physical development is considered important. Consequently, language learning is skilfully linked with music, artistic abilities and physical movement. Learning is personalized and meaningful in that the course content is adjusted to learners’ cognitive and affective needs. It is also multi-sensory and experiential as children learn through activation of all senses, through action and experience as opposed to explanation.
