Associate Level Material Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet Part 1 For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions. Physical health: It allows me to stay in shape, so that I may be able to have to have the energy to perform normal every day activities like run around and play with my 4 year old. Social health: Going out with my friends at least twice a month and have “adult” conversations with them. Since I’m a stay at home mom who home schools my 4 year old I’m around her all day, which means I interact with her on her age level. It allows me interact with other adults in a stress free environment, lets me have a good time and I’m able to blow off some steam from my everyday life. Intellectual health: Having some down time for myself alone where I am allowed to relax and reflect. It also helps me to clear my mind so that I can begin to focus goals I need to accomplish or on things that are going on in my life. Environmental health: While cleaning my house I am able to dust, disinfect, and clean so that bacteria and allergens do not build up to get my husband, children or myself sick. Emotional health: I’m able to talk to a psychiatrist every week regarding my struggle with anxiety, depression and being bipolar. My doctor also helps me to make sure I take my medication and that it’s the proper dosage. This allows me to accept me for who I am and who I always will be along with building up my self-esteem. Spiritual health: By going to church this helps me to be able to feel better about myself and my belief in my religion. I am able to sit in silence, think, pray, and listen to the message that’s being
