School Is a Crime

Daniel Thomas CJRU/SOCI 212 Criminology Prof. Evans 3/5/14 “School is a crime” Crime is caused by various endeavors that can even sometimes rationalize the crime. These factors trigger an individual to commit criminal activities. My theory is simple, school causes people to commit crime. I believe lack of education is the prime aspect of why people commit crime. It is a statistical fact that lack of education influences crime rates to rise. Parents who don’t put the pressure on their kids about the importance of education and school more than likely never received it themselves when they were younger. Most of these kids usually are in single parent homes which means that one parent has to provide shelter, cloths and food but with the absence of the other parent it’s more difficult for that particular child to be comforted with the guidance to lead to productive and stable mindset. Kids who lack education are more than likely to have dropped out but more importantly more likely to run into trouble with the law. Most of these kids end up on the streets and joining gangs which leads to further danger in regards to committing crime. In my opinion, many kids who end up this way are in areas of poverty which is also responsible for more crime, these kids are oblivious to the fact that education is the way out of poverty. These are the reasons why parents need to make education a more cogent conversation with their children. The vital truth is kids that drop out of school will face hardship and more than likely probably have money troubles which can make crime become even more rational. Parents should always have an up to date overview of how their child is doing in school and communication with their teachers would also help. Kids need this because if they may have any kinds of problems it’s imperative to solve when their young before it becomes more of a
