These Lunch and Learns occur on Fridays from noon to one, and they are the most helpful workshops that I have ever attended. These workshop topics vary each Friday, from time management to learning how to take good notes in class. They provide food and it is a huge encouragement for me to know that there is help out there for those of us who are struggling in school, like me. The TRIO program also does campus tours, which are also very encouraging. The campus tours showed me that an education in our home town or community college is not the only option.
The Pledge of Allegiance has always been a part of my daily routine as a high school student. It’s a requirement that each morning the teachers make us stand up and put our hands over our hearts. Of course, they tell us it’s our choice to say it. But, who is not going to join in when all of their classmates around them are reciting those few lines? It’s just so easy to join in with the crowd than actually stand up for what you think is right.

Inventions is a way for people to improve our society as time goes, just like this book shows the importance of creating something simple like a Zipper. After reading this book I came to realize how many inventions created to better our everyday life. For example zipper, post-it notes, and photocopier are all parts of inventions useful for us every day. This book is so relevant to creativity because it takes simple thing we need and use every day and make it into an invention. I’m sure every day we think of way to make something better by adding something to it or just using our imagination to change the whole
