Running and Endorphins Endorphins released while running can make people happier in life. Endorphins are the “good sensations” when you begin a run, or while exercising in general. They come from the brain and pituitary polypeptide hormone adrenocorticotropin, which is involved with stress, to make the pain while exercising less hurtful (Amir 1). This is a biochemical reaction that happens in the brain to effect mood. Running is constant pain and movement, so endorphins are let out during this time so exercise is enjoyable. It is so the activity being completed now does not cause soreness, but afterwards, the soreness starts, but the aftermath of feeling good about appearance and mind set makes it worthwhile. (Quinn 1) Secondly, Endorphins make running deem enjoyable because of the relaxation and self esteem of it. It is the link between exercise and mood. It is the link because many people enjoy exercise, and being heartfelt. Sometimes that is not the case, but, the majority of people enjoy living a happier life. Where endorphins are let off during running, this helps tremendously with attaining being content. This is because running has tremendous abilities to reform someone’s life. This is why if anyone has gone for a run after a strenuous day, they feel much more enhanced afterwards. Because anyone who is stressed in life, needs a breaker between stress, and being relaxed. Being active will help not being depressed than those of non-active people. This also prevents anxiety, because going on a long run can alleviate stress from letting off steam. (Weir 1) One advantage to running would obviously be getting to meet new people. Who doesn’t love to be in the “in crowd?” It is also a wonderful way to get involved with the community.
