Describe different working relationships in health and social care settings The Different working relationships in health and social care setting would come into 3 types e.g. policy making, administrive, and the hands on staff, the working relationship in health and social care starts with the policy making has they have to know everything from the law to the public sector and they will delegate the job of implementing decisions to the administration team ,who then will work out the correct forms charts procedures for action and reporting back, And the you get the Hands on staff who will implement these procedures in their daily jobs Describe why it is important to adhere to the agreed scope of the job role It is important to adhere to the scope of your job role as this sets out boundaries in your job role, enables you to know your role and responsibility, knowing your own level of competence and skills, to know your job role, if someone asked you to do another role it wouldn’t be ok if you carried out the tasks because you aren't trained for it and you could injury yourself or others around you.
By working to a set of rules and procedures for which you're paid, you are accountable and responsible for any mistakes and errors you make. Time restrictions and boundaries apply and you do not necessarily have to like the people you work with but need to keep personal opinions and feelings to yourself. Mutual deference and understanding is a key factor in developing a good working relationship. A personal relationship is a relationship formed through choice, with someone who you like, who you may share welfares and feelings with. In a personal relationship there are no sets of rules and procedures to follow and you are able to voice your personal feelings, thoughts and feelings.
Contingency Theory has various styles of leadership and no two workers are motivated the same way (Lewis, Packard, & Lewis, 2007, p. 278). Based on the interaction on how the supervisor and the employee’s role intertwined with each other it was clear to see that the supervisor assumed and expected certain expectations in the workplace and assumed that along with that the client’s needs would also be met. As we seen the situation play out we also noticed the lack of motivation to practice the token system with the clients coming from the employees’ point of view. The challenge there was that competency and practice of the method were not being held to the same standard as the supervisors’ vision. If the supervisor has a strong sense of that method and knowledge of it, the employees were not reflexing the same in this example.
Outcome 1 1.1 The difference between working relationships from a personal relationship is that a working relationship is different because of boundaries, professional codes of conduct, employer policies and procedures. In a working relationship you would be friendly, you would know your role and responsibility, also you would not share your personal information as you would with friends. A working relationship has no emotional attachment where as a personal relationship you would. 1.2 The different working relationships in health and social care settings would come into 3 types :- policy making, administrate staff and the hands on staff, the working relationship in health and social care starts with the policy making has they have to know everything from the law to the public sector and they will delegate the job of implementing decisions to the administration team who will then work out the correct procedures for action and reporting back whereas the hands on staff will implement those procedures in their daily tasks. Personal relationships have their differences and they know a lot about each other’s private lives. Working relationships are governed by policies and procedures that protect both the customer and the staff but personal relationships have no policies or procedures to protect them and can be formed with anyone. Aii) Give 2 examples of different working relationships in an adult social care setting Working relationship with your customer is a one-on-one relationship. Working relationship with your supervisor and manager. These people cannot afford to be treated with anything less than the upmost care and respect; it is for this reason that there should be a minimum standard of training for healthcare assistants to be able to work unsupervised. A minimum standard of training before working unsupervised will ensure that carers will have the skills needed to provide the correct and necessary care for patients without having to be supervised. It should be compulsory for healthcare assistants in training to be supervised at all times when working as, if mistakes are made, they may not be able to make amends and this could be fatal for patients. The lack of a minimum of standard of training means that there is nothing stopping healthcare assistants with insufficient training and experience being put in charge of the care of vulnerable patients. Having carers with insufficient training in charge of the care of patients, some of whom may have complex cases, may very well be life threatening.
\ 1.07 Privacy and Confidentiality, there was no adequate record keeping, so even volunteer had access to confidential records. 2.01 Respect, (a) Social workers should treat colleagues with respect and should represent accurately and fairly the qualifications, views, and obligations of colleagues. Stan didn’t respect Grace because of her views on how thing were happening 2.04 Disputes Involving Colleagues, (a) Social workers should not take advantage of a dispute between a colleague and an employer to obtain a position or otherwise advance the social workers’ own interests. This is where Dave took the opportunity to become Stan lackey, and Grace became the trouble maker, which made it hard for her to stay as an intern. 3.02 Education and Training (b) Social workers who function as educators or field instructors for students should evaluate students’ performance in a manner that is fair and respectful: Grace did act in manner consistent with current principle and standards.
