ROAD MAP TO LEAN IMPLEMENTATION
1. Starting and sustaining a lean effort requires planning and a stepwise implementation. The proposed road map designed towards lean manufacturing are as fellows.
a. leadership Engagement. The management team must provide leadership who are well-versed in lean tools and techniques by linking the lean initiative to the business strategy and communicating global measures. This step involves getting leadership’s full commitment to giving their time and support to lean implementation that is long term plan which will be aligned with the company’s strategic vision. These teams should focus on assigned value streams to make possible to ease control. Also, the lean Team leader will be in charge for training of both management employees and staff.
b. Employee Training. Before starting the lean implementation all employees should be given greater level lean training. The training should be given to large groups of employees to get better ideas. This training should be giving from top to bottom of the organisation. The lean manager should be the primary trainer and be capable of answering question employees may have. To enable Ecquador employees have a well again understanding of lean practices.
C Daily Performance Walkthroughs. Each day the leadership team assigned to a value stream should complete a walkthrough of the gemba(factory floor).this makes the process more visual and gives leaders a good understanding of the true condition of the shop floor and enable them take abrupt actions to put right any glitch.
d. Kaizen Even Process. At this point teams of individuals focus for multiple days at a time and make improvement to a focused cell. All employees including floor workers must be engaged in making improvement and multiple minds work together from differing perspective to develop the best possible solutions.
