Review of Creative Performance

Creative performance is known to be very important when determining how well an individual will do in a work environment. But how is it possible for the creativity of a person to vary so heavily? Not everyone possesses the same creative gifts, and there is evidence that the variability of creativity is due to slight and major differences of the personality. According to Sun Young Sung and Jin Nam Choi from Seaoul National University of South Korea, the big five factors of personality play a very important role in determining how much creativity a person contains. Motivation is another influential factor when considering how creativity comes to be. It seems that motivation is in direct correlation with the big five personality traits in this study. Creativity is a very important factor when considering job performance. This article described it as being almost fundamental if you want to succeed in any form of job you pursue. I believe creativity is one of the more beautiful characteristics of people. It allows you to express yourself and without the creative people that make up this world it’d be a very boring place. Even at my job in customer service the use of creativity surfaces every once and a while. Since creativity plays such a major role in life, it is almost a priority that it is understood how it is determined. The big five factors of personality do a good job of explaining an individual and creativity. The first big five factor of personality is extraversion. I believe if someone is highly extraverted the chance of them also being creative could be very high, as well. Extraversion is described as being energetic, enthusiastic, and ambitious. These people are more inclined to go out into the world and interact with others. This act of going out can lead to moments of inspiration.
