Second, financially stressed companies that go dark are the very companies’ shareholders need to monitor usually and where transparency is most important. Clearly, SOX has both positive and negative effects. However, the implementation problems of the Act do not provide sufficient reason to weaken or eliminate SOX requirements or to adopt significant exemptions based on company size. 2. However, many other factors played a role in the demise of the Parliament such as the fact that they were ill-organised, the lack of popular support and their inability to enforce decisions. Frederick William IV was partially responsible for the failure of the Frankfurt Parliament as he was unwilling to accept the ‘crown from the gutter’. William IV was aware that acceptance of the leadership may lead to war with Austria. Austria had no wish to see a united Germany and wanted to keep it weak and divided in order to dominate. Frederick William shared this view and was unwilling to potentially cause a war with such a powerful state.

The government could not control all these invasions, so this was another component that helped the fall of the Roman Empire. Document 5 shows bias because it blames the fall of the civilization on internal decay. This is significant because if a very well organized government that had been able to keep order throughout such a large empire could no longer do it, then this meant nobody else could. All of these political
Furthermore, Congress was disappointed in the fact that Wilson left some important things in order to compromise with the other countries. Many people believed the League of Nations was completely unnecessary for the US, since it mostly dealt with issues not concerning the US. They did not want to get involved with future European affairs. However, Wilson believed that the only way to prevent future wars was to establish the League of Nations. Wilson’s rock solid position on the League of Nations was one of the most significant reasons why the treaty was never passed.
The Mongols had foreign administrators in China because they did not trust any Chinese person to be left in charge therefore foreign people were used. While in the Middle East the Mongols felt that leaving the Persians to have some charge would be the best for the people and result in benefits. Along with similar and different political effects of Mongol rule, there were similar and different economic effects of Mongol rule on China and the Middle East. At home, there had been anti-Semitic attitudes where the natives did not want more refugees in their country. The economic conditions during the prewar period made US not to encourage the letting in, of more people as refugees (Abzug 72). As such, there were widespread sentiments that the economy could not accommodate more people. From 1939 to 1941, most attention of the people had turned towards military events of that time. Making profit is important to people. Most of all, improving the bottom line is the primary objective for major companies. “For Robert Shively, learned that his employer, Occidental Petroleum Corporation, or also-known-as Oxy Pete,” wanted to forgo the guaranteed-employer pension plans for the less demanding 401(K) system where it is based on contributions from employee’s pay rather than from the employer’s profit. This forces the employee to save without any effort but, due to this, workers began to neglect the social security and entirely dropped the use of the original pension plan.

There is a giant funnel that starts in Europe and deposits immigrants into the United States.
In China and the Middle East, politically Mongol rule effected who did the governing, and Mongol rule at first disrupted economies before facilitating trade on a large scale, and effected whether or not they converted to the Mongol-style nomadic economy.
