Herman Boone is the Virginia high school football coach, as is Bill Yoast (Will Patton). During the crucial period of racial incorporation at the beginning of the 1970's, when Herman Boone is appointed head coach rather than coach Yoast for the Titans football team there are complications and difficulties between the two coaches, the team players and the rest of the community. Coach Boone won't take any racial assortment. Boone treats all of his players equally, If the player doesn't know anything about the person of the opposite color that they are rooming with, they have homework to get to know one another. With this, it creates a special bond between these men.
Michael Vick began playing college football at Virginia Tech in 1998. He led the Hokies to the National Championship Game against Florida State in 1999 and finished his college career with an amazing 20-1 record as a starter. His outstanding speed, arm strength, and ability to elude tackles led the Atlanta Falcons to pick him first overall in the 2001 NFL draft. Vick's reward for turning pro was a six-year, $62 million contract that included a $15 million signing bonus. Vick made his NFL debut at San Francisco on September 9, 2001 and saw limited action.
Transformational leaders are under the assumption that people will follow them because their inspiring. They are the type of person that have vision and passion and they believe the way to get things done is by injecting enthusiasm and energy. Colonel Shaw had a vision of training an all black infantry with honor, pride and the skills to go into combat and fight for the rights they deserve. He sold his vision to black soldiers and to his upper command who still did not think black men were capable of being good soldiers. In the beginning of the film Colonel Shaw is asked to lead an all black company of union soldiers which he accepted.
But he was also depressed because he’s never been away from his siblings before and he didn’t want to leave them, but they understood and knew it was for the best. After playing four years of college football he was drafted by the Atlanta falcons. His family has never been prouder and from this point they understood that they would be having a big paycheck. This was a good thing for the Vick family, but also a very bad thing for them. They didn’t know how to save money or spend it in a more convenient way to keep some extra cash for the long run.
When Haskins tries to recruit the potential white players they reject his interest in team out of hand, and when he decides to recruit black players for Texas Western, one of his assistant coaches warns him, “Son, you cant win playing nagger ball. Sure, they can jump, but they cant lead…they don’t have the intelligence. “Haskins didn’t care about what he had to say he still went along and recruited black players. Lucas just stares at the assistant coach with a straight face like he just didn’t care what he had to say. In movie.ign.com movie review, Jeff Otto writes, “Lucas performance is the background that keeps glory road from becoming utter trite.” Derek Luke doses an outstanding job as Bobby Joe Hill in “glory road.”
He idolizes, Dr. Bledsoe, the president of the Negro College. He aspires to emulate Dr. Bledsoe at the conclusion of his educational journey. That journey is cut short and the Invisible Man leaves not only the college, but the South to continue his search in finding his identity; his identity being his ideal place in society as a black man, but because it he is a black man it is hard to communicate with other people because they will not give him the time of day, thus hinders his search
It has to, because his grades certainly aren't. But lately his plan has run squarely into a pick. Coach's new offense has made another player a star, and Drew won't let anyone disrespect his game. Dr. Bledsoe was the black administrator of his school, and becomes the narrator’s mentor. The reason for the narrator's idolization to Dr. Bledsoe is that he is a well respected man in the white mans world and this is what fuels the narrator to work hard, he wants to be treated as Dr. Bledsoe is. Later in the story, the narrator feels betrayed by Bledsoe, whom he so admires, when he kicks him out of school because he showed Mr. Norton to a rundown black

Though everyone in the town of Maycomb continue to criticize Atticus for defending Tom Robinson due to the color of his skin, he strived to accomplish his goal, his mind was set for victory. Courage was seen by Atticus when he was asked why he is defending Tom Robinson: “For a number of reasons," said Atticus. "The main one is, if [he] didn't [he] couldn't hold up [his] head in town, [he] couldn't represent this county in the legislature, I couldn't even tell you or Jem not to do something again. […] Scout, simply by the nature of the work, every lawyer gets at least one case in his lifetime that affects him personally. This one's mine [...]” (100) He accepted the case to set a good example for his children, he also accepted it to try to discern if the town of Maycomb might realize that racism is not the way of living.
