One of the major themes of the movie is leadership. Leadership can be defined as an act that one can develop by having the ability to lead other towards an ambition. One may say that leadership is a skill that an individual can have. The way to become a leader or to have the skill of leadership is when an individual is an inspiration and a guide to a group of individuals or a person that motivate them to accomplish a goal or goals and must have three characteristics which are fearless, reliable, and focus.
In both stories kids were influenced by adults. Fist Stick Knife Gun was pointed more towards violence. Geoffrey saw fighting all his life and thought that it was normal because his family told him so. “The Wave” by Morton Rhue was more about the power of other people’s say in things. Mr. Ross’ class made The Wave more powerful because everyone joined it and people thought it was the “right” thing to do.
The season documented in the film took place during the year the school was integrated. Chapter 1 of our textbook discusses the idea of participating in a diverse society. Most people who have worked from the bottom up may not find it necessary to help others because they have the ability to do the same. In this case Sampson Davis found it most important to help young people who wish to become something in life. He, George, and Rameck created an organization where they would mentor young people with a goal. Being that he didn’t have to help anyone this was a generous deed.
Even though Craig is Al’s close friend, he should be fired, since as the president of the company, Al should treat every employee fairly. Al just fired an employee who tapped into the company’s computer system. The company culture values are being put to the test. Every employee is keeping an eye out on this event. If Al doesn’t take appropriate actions, employees may loss confidence working for a boss who has no principles.
