Also, the ABC nightly news channel reported that the Buddhist population in the United States was of about four to six million individuals; 75 to 80% of Asian descent who had inherited Buddhism as a family tradition, and the other 20 to 25% were American converts (Nakasone, 2007). Most of the East Asian migrants who arrived in the 19th century to the United States make up the Buddhist population. Even though immigration is important to the expansion of religion, conversion to Buddhism also plays a big role in the growth of religion. Many Americans seem attracted to the ideas of Buddhism even when the number of Buddhist converts is limited. One of the main reasons why Buddhism is being successful is because of the fact that the religion is not tied to a certain ethnicity, the article of Buddhism in America

LIBERTY UNIVERSITY THE GROWTH OF CHRISTIANITY IN INDIA A RESEARCH PAPER SUBMITTED TO PROFESSOR RODNEY NICKENS IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CHHI302 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY ONLINE BY ROBERT ORTIZ JR. LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA MARCH 4, 2013 INTRODUCTION India is a country known today by most Americans as a place where cows roam free, Bollywood is hotter than the Mohave Desert in midsummer, the Taj Mahal, and where a great many American companies turn to outsource jobs. India is also known for vast diversity in culture, export, geography, and religion – depending on who you ask of course. India is “roughly one-third the size of the United States” and yet boasts “the second largest population in the world, behind China.” Please include a thesis statement. Global Edge states the population in India is “1.2 billion and is growing at 1.3% a year,” they also tell us “more than half of the population depends on agriculture for its livelihood. 700 million Indians live on $2 per day or less…” and even though this is the case for millions of India’s population the economy in India has slowed over the last couple of years says Brookings.edu, after having experienced a slight wave of economic growth; growth or no growth that has not thwarted the disparity between India’s rich and India’s poor.
Religion also provided a strong role in the governments of different societies around the world. Even today the American government is based on the beliefs of the Christian faith and Christian values. Other civilizations base their government practices on different religious beliefs and have been for thousands of years. The Genesis and Exodus of Crake’s Children in Oryx and Crake A global census by the U.S. Center for World Mission indicates that, in the year 2000, 52.8 percent of the world’s population adhered to the Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Bush). While there have been numerous conflicts between these three religions throughout history, especially between Islam and Christianity, these three religions are all remarkably similar, particularly in their sacred texts. Both the second Sura of the Islamic Qur’an and the books of Bereshit and Shemot in the Jewish Tanakh contain stories that correspond very closely to the Biblical books of Genesis and Exodus. These accounts are also explored in Margaret Atwood’s novel Oryx and Crake, in the creation of Crake’s Children and their flight from Paradice Dome, the home that Crake designed for them. The parallels between the Biblical accounts and Atwood’s narrative are particularly strong concerning the character of the protagonist, Jimmy, who later becomes known to Crake’s Children as Snowman.
Mormons live and work all over the United States and throughout the world. So why don’t a lot of people know about them? Well, because they are applied to members of the Church of Jesus Christ, so most people would see them as Christians. They value their families, communities, and the country they live in. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, something you will learn later about, is the fourth-largest religious institution in America, with over six million members in the United States and a total of nearly fourteen million worldwide.
Within five centuries of the opening of the Silk Road to Central Asia, Buddhism had become so prevalent in China that some scholars estimate as many as 90% of her population to have been converted to Buddhism. By the Northern Wei dynasty (386-535) this religious philosophy had so penetrated the ruling elite as to inspire massive public works programs at some of the world's finest cave complexes atMogao, Yungang and Longmen. And in 629, early in the Tang dynasty (618-907), concerns for textual authenticity inspired China's most famous pilgrimage. The monk Xuanzang departed from Chang'an (modern day Xi'an) on a sixteen year journey to northern India in search of original Sanskrit texts. When he returned with over 600 such texts, the Wild Goose Pagoda was constructed in Chang'an (modern day Xi'an) as a library for these
