In the present era of fast growing economy, a critical relationship has been formed between work and non-work (home) life. People are inclined towards longer working hours (of average 100,000 of their lives) to build career and automatically their job title identify them. The Office for National Statistics reported, increase in dual-income families and single parents, which enhanced this relationship. The Interference by both factors affected each other negatively. These negative effects have been well discussed in literature: organizational impact such as increased absence and decreased job performance; individual impact such as reduced life satisfaction and increased physical and physiological pressure (Beauregard, 2011). Work-home culture is defined as the rules, beliefs, and values among organizational members to understand the employee’s work and non-work responsibilities (Thompson, Beauvais, and Lyness 1999). Literature has defined three different components of work-home culture: organizational time demands, or to prioritize the office work over non-work to meet the deadlines; negative consequences on career due to spending time on non-work activities; and managerial level support and sensitivity for non-work related activities (Jahn, Thompson, and Kopelman, 2003). Healthy work-home culture has a positive effect on organization and individual’s life. Organizations, exhibiting a healthy work-home culture, noted greater job satisfaction, organization commitment, and better performance among its employees. The support from immediate supervisors in terms of non-work leave policy puts a strong impact on increased individual home life satisfaction and trustworthiness by family members.
