I recognised she was in an elated mood, very excited and spoke in a rushed manor. This was normal for my client when on a high, however I was concerned that her family might think Ill of me for allowing her food during this important time of the year. Her family were understanding and thought best my client not have any support during Ramadan for fear of temptation. I did not think this was best practice and immediately spoke to my line manager. She asked if I could work later until Ramadan was over.
Rayann then added that she would also like to visit the Levy Pool while they’re in town. They also agreed on walking by the railroad tracks and visiting a store called JoJo’s. Later on Cookie and Rayann went to go talk to Aunt Jesse to get her permission to take the bus downtown. Aunt Jesse didn’t like the idea of them going downtown by themselves, in
No matter the situation, if I help someone, I somehow made their life just a little bit easier. I want to be that MA that everyone looks forward to seeing, just to help lift their spirits. To see a person smile and know that I contributed to it makes my day. I know personally that I’ve been to a doctor’s office and I was not happy with my experience, so hopefully somehow, I can help the patient have a wonderful visit. Now this may sound a little funny, but I am a nosey
I would also watch their facial expressions, so if they looked confused by what I had said then I would repeat what I said, or use hand gestures to try explain it, so it was easier for them to understand. Also, due to them being a dementia patient, I talked slowly, so it was clearer, if they were able to fully understand what I was saying I would not talk slower as they may
For example, my baby sister had delayed speech. When she wants to talk to us, she mumbles and it's hard to understand. I help her with her speech by sounding out the words from a book or TV show. She is a fast learner but sometimes has trouble pronouncing words properly, for example, she'll say "muse" for "move", but we still understand her. This makes it easier to talk to her and to help expand her speech.
When the bus moved, I was saying to my youth pastor that this was my first time going to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA! So, then she said(laughing), ”There are rides that are extreme and rides that will make you pee your pants!” We got there a little early, so we had to wait in line because the parking lot wasn’t open yet.
For example a female service user with complex needs, use to become very aggitated when encouraged to go out of the unit, after getting to know the individual and working alongside the family we found that she prefers to go on the mini-bus rather than walk anywhere. we updated the care-plan to include accessing the community via the minibus and participating in activities that she enjoys, this has had a positive effect on her behavior and she now enjoys taking part in activities, which has given her a more balanced valued lifestyle as previously she wasn’t leaving the unit during her
Even though there were strict consequences for Parks she did not give into threats and yelling of the bus driver. Rosa Parks stood up for that she believed in and made a change. On December 1st, 1955 Rosa Parks took her seat on the bus after a long grueling day at work. Soon after a couple stops were made and more white passengers boarded the bus, the bus driver told Rosa to get up and move so that there were more seats for the white people. Rosa paid no attention to the driver speaking towards her and continued to look out the window.
Areas of good practice can be built on and repeated and any deficient areas identified addressed with training, advice and support. 2.2 Reflect on an aspect of your work practice, including its effectiveness and ways that it could be improved. One experience which I have reflected on in order to learn from and improve for the future is an incident where I had to approach the delicate subject of personal hygiene with a young client with learning difficulties that I support. I initiated the conversation with M in a quiet area in an environment where he felt comfortable. I attempted to be sensitive and explain the positives of maintaining good personal hygiene without directly relating the remarks to him.
I can help my friends who are being bullied or left out, by standing up for them when they are afraid. I can use my voice as a positive influence on the people around me. My voice can be calming to those in need or empowering to those who are having a bad day. My voice my change lives if I use it in the right way. Using my voice just to give someone a compliment can make a person’s
