One effective method for me is playing music while writing essays for English. I have found that this type of music is a fantastic way to become inspired and it aids in intellectual development. As a musician I have always gone to music when I am lacking inspiration and it has never failed me. Whenever I have an essay to write for English, the first thing I do is start up my music. Writing is not a challenging task for me but it does demand a certain imaginative spark that I find in music.
Reflective practice is important to the development of lecturers as professionals as it enables us to learn from our experiences of teaching and make easier student learning. Developing reflective practise means developing ways of reviewing our own teaching so that it becomes a routine and a process by which we might continuously develop. Kolb’s Learning Style Model. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learning_styles Kolb developed a theory of experiential learning that can give us a useful model by which to develop our practise. This
Music lessons cultivate a wide range of skills. Playing an instrument requires fine motor skills, practice, knowledge of a musical system and emotional intelligence to convey the piece's message. Developing regular practice habits in each of these areas can aid children outside the music room by reinforcing study routines that reward the time put into learning a new skill. The process is also much like going to school in that the music student is learning interactively, whether in a group or one-on-one environment. Smaller classrooms have been shown to increase learning potential, and therefore these smaller, individualized sessions help develop increased learning aptitude and attention.
I believe that the link between my learning style and effective study is that I being a naturalist need to be able to organize and label everything so I can know how to find things and easily. This comes in handy for effective study since I will always need to go back and reference my notes. Having them organized really helps and saves a lot of time on my assignments and when a quiz is taken.
On the contrary, aural study strategies engage “attending classes, discussions, and tutorials, discussing topics with others and teachers, and using a tape recorder.” People who are good listeners and learn better by hearing have aural strategies. Kinesthetic strategies, however, require you to completely take notes and fully engage yourself. Another comparison can be between read/write strategies and visual strategies. Visual strategies “use symbolism and different formats, fonts and colors to emphasize important points. It does not include video and pictures that show real images and it is not visual merely because it is shown on a screen.” It is similar to read/write strategies because read/write strategies also engage using your eyes to read but visual strategies use things that are prominent to your eyes.

By doing this, a child can learn to understand himself and others. Also, Children learn cooperation, leadership, and communication skills.
My learning experiences are greatly enhanced by utilizing various visual tools such as charts, graphs, posters, movies, videos, television, and computers. As a visual learner I can benefit greatly from visualizing the information while simultaneously listening to the information. As an educator I present materials, and instructions in written form as well as orally to meet the needs of visual and auditory students in the classroom setting. The visual learner comprises 40%-50% of the general population. Auditory Modality: As an auditory learner I must listen intently to the information being presented.
While I was reading this activity it was unclear at first read why it fit into the lesson. To avoid this, it would be beneficial for the students to be offered an overview of the lesson so that they know they are learning about the importance of images in album artwork and that this will be used in the final project. The final activity and assessment they will be connecting the images of an album artwork to a character, relationship, or theme they have discussed in The One Who Flew the Cuckoo’s Nest. This activity is beneficial to students because it gave specific examples of different album images that promoted different feelings and meanings, and then asks the students to find meaning in the images of their favorite albums. This is helpful because you are setting up personal connections with your students by allowing them to use their personal interests while still staying focused on the
First came the basic notes to certain keys. Next I learned how to strum. I was amazed at the fact that I could play the instrument. After each lesson I would continually practice, trying to make the clearest sound possible. I began piecing together strums and notes to play songs.
