Reaction paper on Jurassic Park There are 3 points I would like to focus on: “science defies creation” Chaos theory Science as a public property without demanding responsibility. 1) the move stated it like this: God created dinosaurs; God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man, man destroys God and man creates dinosaurs. Jurassic park is not pure fantasy but is a science fiction. It may be possible in time like the novels of Jules Verne. The process of cloning, transplanting foreign DNA into a reproductive cell so that the cell divides producing the exact replica of the “parent” (DNA donor), has been carried out successfully in lower animals like frogs. Who told us to play gods. The creators of the H-bomb, physicists realizing the potential destruction they’ve created turned to the “safer “ field of genetic engineering. Now the question they face is moral. Has science indeed become so powerful that it can now recreate creation? My answer is NO. I believe that creation has not stopped but is ongoing. Science is part of creation and is now one of the forces shaping it, along with natural selection, mutations etc. Man was made in the image of a Creator God. He has the spark of God in him, the potential to ‘create’ coming from God’s own nature. Because man was to be His partner – we have been given dominion over the earth before the fall. But man cannot create from nothing; he merely rearranges the things that are already there. Elements number 104-118 (?) are all man-made, with life expectancies measured in millionths of a second. All practically useless. Our altered organisms are also impotent outside the lab. Six thousand years of man has not added anything substantial to the universe.
