Businesses require a tool to measure the execution of objectives. As far as the goals of objectives they are supposed to align with a stated vision and mission. Effective objectives ensure that daily activities align with the big picture or if there will be a need to adjust redirect focus. A balanced scorecard is a tool, generated by Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton. Authors Pearce and Robinson (2009) suggest, a balanced scorecard “Is a set of measures that are directly linked to the company’s strategy,” “Directs a company to link its own long-term strategy with tangible goals and actions,” and “Provides a framework to translate a strategy into operational terms” (p. 202).

I will then make my judgement whether the US were tolerant or intolerant during the 1920’s. The meaning of intolerance is when someone refuses to accept ideas they don’t like. During the 1920’s widespread intolerance did exist on many different levels: politically, socially and culturally. To begin with, immigration in the 1920s started to become an increasingly worrying problem for the American government. Many of these people were unemployed and unskilled, subject to poverty and falling into the lower classes of America's ‘capitalist’ society.
Organized Labor DBQ Labor Unions in America have had a history of being loud, messy, and relatively unsuccessful. One of their biggest problems were the wages and hours they received, this continued from 1875-1900 when they only saw slight changes in the average daily wages, and average daily hours (DocA). Workers found themselves facing a negative general consensus from the American public due to perceived anarchist and socialist relations. Disharmony among rivaled labor unions, violence of some labor strikes, and the availability of scrub workers led to unsuccessful strikes and weaker unions. There were a good number of labor unions during the late 19th century and they all seemed to have different needs.

A massive layoff by a business decreases the business’s expenses because they will have fewer employees on the payroll. The business will also have less production and may have less income as a result. A household is affected by a layoff because an entire income is lost. When a household loses an income, spending is decreased to compensate for that loss. Businesses also suffer when massive layoffs occur.
