The Brilliant Showing and Performances in the Pursuit of Happyness
Chris Gardner, a married man and father, begins to face overwhelming obstacles in his route to discover happiness. After investing his entire life savings into the thought to be medical breakthrough known as the “Bone Density Scanner”, Chris learns that the device is deemed by almost every doctor and hospital as an unnecessary luxury. After failing to make any major breakthrough sales, Chris’s wife leaves him and he is evicted from his residence. Needing to make money fast while still trying to sale his scanners, Chris decides to take on the job as a stockbroker. While living on and off the streets and making the most of what is at hand, Chris Gardner does all he can to provide and bring “happyness” into the his son’s life and his own. The audience, from beginning to the end, captures the full effect of love, pain, hurt, sadness, love and happiness throughout the entire movie by the brilliant acting of Will Smith and his son Jaden.
Will Smith played the main character in the movie Christopher Gardner. His performance being nominated for the Best Lead Actor Oscar speaks in and of itself. He did an absolute brilliant job not just acting the role, but portraying a man trying to fight for and find inner happiness for him and his family. The performance of Will Smith is what sold this movie to its well known about hype. As your engaged in the storyline, guessing what will come next, Will Smith adds just the needed amount of warmth and comfort needed to attract the audience to this character. Whether the scene had Will Smith sprinting down the roads of California or had him cradling his son in the subway bathroom with tears overflowing his cheeks, he sold the role perfectly.
