Abstract The establishent of the United States and was closely related to its people's pursuit of freedom. America had a long colonial history. Before the founding of the United States, American people had suffered plenty of unfairness. They had no rights to do assembly and had nothing to do with the local troops' occupying their houses. In order to end it up, American people at first only fought again the King's unreasonable Act, but later realized only did they fight for the independence, could they gain the real freedom. So there came the war of independence. After eight-year hard fighting, the United Kingdom was finally agree to concede their independence. However, that was not the end of pursuing freedom. The freedom also means to build a orderly country. Pursuing the freedom in America will never stop, because time will never stop. Key words: America; British; Freedom; Founding Ⅰ. Declaration of Independence Strictly speaking, it's hard to to determine the date of the establishment of the United States. Declaration of Independence set the founding date of the United States on July 4, which was the only the beginning of American war of independence. So unlike other countries, on the founding date, the United States didn't have a decent government, a president, a constitution. The young country lacked too many essential things. The founders had not even laid the country. Declaration of Independence was issued by Continental Congress. Continental Congress was not the government but a gather group of representatives of each American colonies. They held a meeting two years earlier than the publishing date of Declaration of Independence. They decided to fight against the King's unreasonable Act for the freedom of American colonial.
