Belief is a clambering for everyone just like for Equiano. As he finally became Christian - because he was told that this is the only way to go to Heaven – he reached his spiritual liberation, his spiritual conversion. Reading the Bible was a good aim for this conversion. And the mixture of knowledge and faith always rewards you with self-fulfillment you are always able to become the desired person who you want to
I want to be a confirmed Catholic because I want to be closer to God. In order to do this I have to know these following things; benefits of the sacraments, why mass is important, practicing prayer & the rosary, magisterium of the church, the value of the church’s teachings through example, following the Ten Commandments and learning from the gospels. In knowing these things I am preparing myself to receive the Holy Spirit and continue my living my life the way God wanted me to. There are many benefits in receiving the seven sacraments. Baptism is the first of the sacraments that you should receive as a baby.
I really like his outlook on God given talents. He feels that God gave us theses talents we have to glorify him, therefore we should use them as God intended us too. This book helped me grow as a Christian. Just seeing the examples he set for others is one thing that made me realize I needed to do in my own life. Whither I realize it or not people are always watching me.
Effective missionaries are lifelong learners of culture, working to understand where their people currently are so they can lead them to a true, yet truly enculturated, understanding of the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. They understand that the core of the Good News can come wrapped in different packages and expressions. That is all to say, this book by Reggie McNeal resonates with my passion for people with a missional faith. That we should be more missional. To survive as a church in this modern western world, we need a huge paradigm shift of being missional.
“Our faith has important things to say about the whole of human life” (Nash, 1992, 20). It would be wise and beneficial for every Christian to understand truly what they stand for and “…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…” (I Peter 3:15). Our Christian worldview gives us the confidence to share what we believe through word and
It is with great importance that I continue to grow and learn as I walk my spiritual path. Attaining all that I possibly can through my education and being able to be a vessel to assist others. I must strengthen my theological background as I continue with life, this is necessary for me if I want to be a good shepherd and counselor. God has placed me at this point for a reason, and I believe that is to grow closer to Him. * Action If I was speaking with a friend, I would most definitely tell them to keep God at the forefront of their lives.
I believe in the faith of the Lord and that I will have eternal life. I believe that it impacts me in the way that I run into troubles in my life and the faith of higher power to assist me through it and give me strength to continue on to challenge more battles and triumphs along the way. My personal worldview gives me the emphasis to encourage others to choose a faith and a worldview plan to follow and guide them and help them through their lives. In one aspect I choose to be a teacher of Special Education children. I enjoy the fact that learning in a Christian aspect gives me more of an emphasis on how to have a more in depth understanding of learning the knowledge based behind their disabilities.
I know that the superior academic instruction I could receive at Calvin College would be just what I am looking for to achieve a meaningful understanding of the cultural and spiritual context in which we live so I can make known the infinite love, mercy, and grace of Christ. I hope as a student, I can be one who challenges my peers to work toward their full potential, and I hope that they can challenge me to do the same by always encouraging me to practice a life of service, and continue to help make my faith my own. To me, the academic and spiritual opportunities that Calvin College offers are equally important to me. As believers, whatever we do should be done for the Lord. I hope that as a student at Calvin I would be able to encourage others because others have encouraged and strengthened me in this aspect.
Spiritual health is believing and living for something that helps you succeed in life. The main thing that will lead your life in success and in the after life is Jesus Christ. Not many believe and it is a shame but Jesus died for our sins and is here to help us and teach us to do good. Everything that is good and that people teach us today in there own way comes from the
194). The Holy Spirit is the one thing and person that makes the difference in the Christian life. He is the one who comes in our hearts and gives us identity and purpose. We communicate this to students through a changed lifestyle, showing that Jesus can and will give you true identity and security. Conclusion In conclusion, I truly love this book, Timeless Youth Ministry.
