COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION ENGL-101 Liberty University September 9, 2013 The debate of rather a computer is an empowering tool to those who embark upon it still exist today. A computer in the hands of a hard-working student is an important and empowering tool that, if utilized to the fullest potential, can be capable of encouraging that student to become a success in his or her studies. In today’s society, technology has become an integral part of education. It allows students and teachers access to information, show students real world, help with research projects, and prepares for jobs. I believe that with the many technological advances that have been made throughout history computers have made life easier.
And it seems that the computer literacy is very important which particularly effect contemporary young people’s mental development. This essay will explore how to properly operate a computer, and what pros and cons they will bring. Contemporary computers are multimedia machines with sophisticated audio capabilities to accompany the video displays (Jewitt 2006cited in Jack J. Hourcade•Howard P. Parette Jr. •Nichole Boeckmann • Craig Blum 2010 p485). It is true that variety of audio outputs are widely used in schools and colleges that they have become an essential feature of modern education. (Bitter and Pierson 2005 cited in Jack, Howard., Jr, Boeckmann, & Blum, 2010).
Avid can help you with projects from other classes and projects in avid. The benefit of avid is it teaches you to put effort into your work and everything else you do. I want to be in avid because it can help you get even better grades.I want to be in avid because I want more help on stuff that my teacher explains too fast and I can do this by utilizing tutorials. I want to be in avid because avid can help you get into college.aI want to be in avid because it can help you earn awards. Avid can help you in so many ways you just need to know how to use it.
The teacher may have genuinely been concerned with presenting too much information to students but through my classes at Sage, excessive stimuli is good of students with ADD because it gives them many things to focus on instead of causing behavioral problems. I want to have a classroom that has a lot of visuals and educational posters on the wall. Everything in my classroom will have a purpose and will be directly related to what I am teaching or be ongoing projects. I really liked Esme’s ideas and
“The institutions traditionally procure, provide and control the technology for learning but now students are acquiring their own personal technologies for learning and institutions are challenged to keep pace” (Research in Technology Learning, 2010). Computers and other technical devices that are being used to enhance student learning helps to make teaching more creative and effective; however, it has also caused a lot of confusion and chaos in regards to ethics. Once teachers only had to be concerned about the basic rules of classroom etiquette and they could govern their classroom visually. Now teachers have to implement rules and guidelines to ensure that technology in the classroom is being used for its intended purpose to protect students from lurking dangers that might not always be detected by human
It shows that the school staffs have a common purpose; i.e. to achieve the targets and provide the support required for a great learning environment for pupils and colleagues. When working in a team in a school, problems are exposed to a greater diversity of knowledge, skill and experience and therefore a greater variety of complex issues can be tackled effectively. Faster output is another benefit of a good teamwork. As no person can be good at everything, working in a team provides a great opportunity for the school staff to learn from each other’s skills and talents.
I found it easier to manage discussions and I could now think about introducing activities which involved more different and challenging types of management such as ICT and group work. One important issue this brought to my attention is that behaviour management and effective learning are very closely connected. Everything seems to depend on good order. (Marland, 1975) Good behaviour management skills help create the classroom in which effective learning can take place. Slowly, I realised that I was spending too much time trying to maintain discipline.
As educators all over the country we are faced with having to embrace and implement technology into our schools and for teachers their lessons. We have students who are very skilled with technology and in order to keep they engage and involved in the lessons we have to incorporate technology into our lessons and move away from the lecture style of teaching and create more interactive lessons that will keep students motivated in the classrooms. Special needs students require more funding and services to provide them with the tools and materials that they need to be successful in school. The special education has really changed over the years because we now have districts moving from the out of district placements and now have more of the special education students in inclusion classrooms and of course we still have the resource rooms and the self contained classrooms. Many districts because of costs are not seeking out of district placements but instead are creating programs within the various school districts that mirror the out of district programs.
These Guidelines can be used along with the current objectives to make the lesson more interesting. I think allowing the students to create things using the computer is much more interesting them then just reading out of a textbook or off of a
That knowledge maybe helps us when we grow up and start working in our society. But, between two ideas, things learned in school or through life experiences, I think things learned through life experiences are more important to a person’s education, because beside what we learned in schools, there are also a lot of things we can learn outside our schools. First of all, we are just taught by our teachers and sometime by our friends at schools. Depend on teachers’ knowledge and the ways they teach in classes, the knowledge and information we input can be changed. Good teachers certainly have good teaching methods, but in a small space like school, those teachers are limited and what we can learn from them is few and limited too.
