Some of the common use of World Wide Web is to gain knowledge in research. When students are doing their home works, instead of going to the library and spending a little more time, they just need to go in front of the computer and search for the topic that they are researching on. Using the internet as a learning resource is somehow more efficient than books when it comes to time. To completely grasp the difference between online education versus traditional education, the following contains information of the pros and cons, of both forms of education that will include cost, convenience, scheduling, and the motivation of online and traditional college students, to name a few, so the people are aware that online is as important as traditional. Online education is growing at an extraordinary rate. More students are enrolling online than that of traditional schools. Online education has given people who found it difficult to attend traditional classes a better chance to achieve getting a higher education, then if they had tried to stay in traditional classes.
Students who attend community college can simply live at home and not have to fear the extra expenses. If a student does decide they want a four year degree, starting off at a community college and then transferring to a university is much cheaper than entering a university right out of high school. It is much easier to get into a community college right after high school versus having to wait to be accepted by a university. There are also many things universities look at that community colleges do not, such as standardized test scores, class rank, and academic GPA. Community college is also more convenient than a university.
In addition, I don’t have to waste expensive gas just to find the closest bill paying location. You can practically pay any bill online as long as the billing company has a website. The internet has made many things possible and easier for Hereford residents. We are able to shop, pay bills, and keep in touch with friends and family online. I do believe that technology has made our lives easier, but it also has made us more dependent on the technology itself. When using the internet for a dictionary you could easily get distracted. Anyone can put anything on the internet, so what you find might not be accurate. Most people find that looking things up on the internet is distracting because you are already on the web so why not check YouTube for a funny video, or update your status on the social network.
Sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter have become the place to go on the Internet. It does not take a scientist to know that generally a college student devotes more time to social networking sites than research. College students spend ridiculous amounts of time checking up on other people’s lives than focusing on more important things like studying and research. Missing friends from home is difficult, especially for a college freshman who is going through the culture shock of living away from home. However, college students need to understand that using social networking sites religiously is not just an issue about the amount of time devoted towards schoolwork, but that it can literally change how they think.
The passage of the “Pick the Public’s Pocket No More” bill would lower college application rates, lower college graduation rates, and lower our country’s number of new college graduates for open positions in the work force. Without grants, many Americans would not be able to pursue college degrees because of the debt they would acquire financing their degree with loans alone. Federal grants allow young adults, who are the future of our country, to pursue a college degree without the full burden of college debts after graduation. So many want the education but can’t afford the costs of regular college so they go to option B. There are lots of new courses being offered online that this may just really what we may be looking at for future learning. Sometimes the classes can be bland and boring with low quality lecture videos, but if you can get through that this type of learning might just be good for you. 3 in 10 students at colleges are at least taking 1 online course. Advertisments and advertisers from for-profit colleges have different methods toward the students they target. Recruiters look for people who know very little about for-profit colleges.
