The first assumption was about a hundred and twenty-seven years ago when Richard W. Sears had decided to start a mail for watches and then moved his company to Chicago where he had hired a man named Alvah C. Roebuck so that he could repair watches and to establish a mail-order business for watches and jewelry (Investopedia, 2013). Richard Sears had decided to sell the company in 1889 but then he had founded with Roebuck, which was another mail order operation for clothing and was known as Sears, Roebuck and Company in 1893. However, the company had grown phenomenally with selling a range of merchandise at low prices to farms and villages that had no other convenient retail outlets (Investopedia, 2013). The beginning for a free delivery as well as the parcel post by the United States postal Service allowing Sears to be able to send their merchandise out to nearly every isolated customers. Sears assumption was right that the customers would order the watches through the mail. I feel that Sears had made a great assumption. His business grew from ordering mailed watches to catalogs and orders to a store that you are able to go into and shop as well. It makes it a conventions for the customers who want to go shopping to be able to go out and shop while the ones who do not prefer to go out to be able to look through catalogs and order or even if they would look online and order. A second assumption is that Susan G. Komen has pulled the breast cancer exam funds from Planned Parenthood for political reasons (Huffingtonpost, 2013). However, it is that Susan had pulled it because it would sever ties with the family planning provider () since congress is investigating it.
