Finally, some people say that using Google will make a person stupid, which is true for some, but others like me, actually use it for research and to learn as well. Experienced Internet users actually showed increased brain activity, with more advanced decision-making skills and complex reasoning. In simple terms, the inexperienced Internet users lagged behind. This is either a win or lose for using Google, it help some, but also fails others.
While there are positive outcomes of the internet, there still exist dangerous aspects to it, such as bullying. Most people may associate bullying with images of a teenager getting slammed into a locker, or getting their lunch money stolen. People may also think that it extends to name calling, teasing, and insults. They may become so used to communicating via internet that they lose basic communication skills and can’t hold a face to face conversation. Prior to social media, people were able to have secret affairs. But now, it has become so much easier to trace foot prints that are left behind, which in turn makes it easier for couples to spy on each other. While this application has its benefits I am sure I also see several disadvantages to it. The major one being the fact of using a device while driving takes away from your awareness on the road. The application while I am skeptical on its real benefit it’s only on the Iphone which shows it’s not economical for those it may benefit the most. MADD was supported by those individuals who had suffered the loss of a loved one due to a drunk driver and wanted a safer future. The goal of the program initially was to lower drunk driving traffic deaths and because of this organization there has been a high number of people that disapprove of others that drive while intoxicated. There is a dramatic drop in alcohol related deaths much due to the efforts of the MADD organization (Canada Safety Council 2003). The most significant problem in lowering drunk driving deaths consists of the most drastic alcoholic drivers who continuously drive with high concentration of alcohol in their blood stream. A Social Problem In America alone people take about two hundred and thirty three trips in cars each year, of all these, one out of two thousand of these trips are being taken by drunk or drugged individuals.
