Anyone who was positive in the movie they tried to hurt or they killed them off. Young minorities are faced with theses images everyday from music videos on down to television shows and I feel that it was an awful depiction of black culture. I do feel that the movie is detrimental and can taint a young urban minorities mind; it could lead young men and women to idolize criminal lifestyle. When Goldie refers to himself as a “hero” I could almost imagine what is going on in a young teenager’s mind. Their probably thinking the movie was great or they want to sell drugs, be a player or pimp just like him without seeing the truth.
It is thought that it is the behaviour of a few ‘sick’ or disturbed individuals, but in actual fact Domestic Violence is far too widespread to be the work of just a few individuals. A minority pattern is that men are abused by women in some cases; official statistics say that 1 in 7 men are abused at some point in their lives by a woman, and 1 in 20 men experience it repeatedly. Another pattern is 1% of Domestic Violence cases are committed by women on another woman. Mirrlees - Black’s (1999) survey of 16,000 people estimates that there are 6.6 million Domestic assaults a year, about half of those involving physical injury. Domestic Violence is not random but follows particular social patterns and these patterns have social causes.
Abercrombie Zombies I believe that the popular American clothing store Abercrombie and Fitch is much to blame for turning American teens into a group of clones. They use subliminal advertisement to get into the minds of today’s youth and make them think that they have to spend every dime they have in order to look cool at school. The teen psychology is very prone to conformity and Abercrombie takes advantage of this through the use of their very sexual advertisement and magazines. They also make kids think that it is alright to make fun of different cultures with their “comic” tees. The extreme overpricing of their clothing is shameful.
It can also refer to behaviour that impacts a person's ability to control their sexual activity or the circumstances in which sexual activity occurs, including oral sex, rape or restricting access to birth control and condoms. It can happen to men, women and even children. Sexual abuse can happen to anyone at any age. Sexual abuse is one of the most common types of abuse that happens within the UK in "2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 on average 2.5 per cent of females and 0.4 per cent of males said that they had been a victim of a sexual offence in the previous 12 months. This represents around 473,000 adults being victims of sexual offences (around 404,000 females and 72,000 males) on average per year.
The results of the survey showed that the overwhelming majority of abusers and victims who were involved in verbal and controlling form of domestic violence were homosexual partners. These forms of control, although common in heterosexual battering cases, have much different technique in same sex cases. One example of controlling aggression includes threatening to exploit, or “out” their partner’s sexuality, if they are still in the closet. If the victim is still in the closet, and afraid to admit their sexuality to their family or the community, this becomes a powerful tool for the aggressor, because if the victim cannot reach out to their family, or friend, due to the fear of coming out, the victim would also never report their abuser to the police for the same reasons. The fear of an aggressor “outing” their victim varies between lesbian and gay couples (Messinger, 2011, p.2233).
Research suggests that alcohol use by the offender, the victims or both, increases the likelihood of sexual assault by a male acquaintance (NIAAA). Individual under the age of 21 commit 45 percent of rapes,44 percent commit robberies and 37 percent commit sexual assault. Its estimated that the population as a whole, 50 percent of violent crime is related to alcohol use. And most of this teenagers are at high risk of sex intercourse, because the alcohol in their system is too high, they have sex with anybody without knowing the person and the person may become eventually become pregnant and they have to accept the responsibility which they might not be ready for and they may end up aborting the baby which is another sin. They may also have unprotected sex with someone who is infected with a disease such as Hiv/Aids, syphilis, staphylococcus and other sexual transmitted disease therefore passing it
For Many years sexism has played a huge role in the United States, whether it is in the workplace or in private homes. Seixsm is the discrimation based on sex. Seixsm can be compared to rasicm; in both the differences between the two ( or more) groups are viewed as superior to inferior. An alarming number of women soldiers are being sexually abused by their comrades-in-arms, both at war and at home. This fact has received a fair amount of attention lately from researchers and the press – and deservedly so.But the attention always focuses on the women: where they were when assaulted, their relations with the assailant, the effects on their mental health and careers, whether they are being adequately helped, and so on.
The media likes to capture rock musicians using drugs at wild parties and acting irresponsible to get attention from people and increase magazine sales and ratings. I consider musicians to be artists who use music as a form of expression. The majority of their actions are to uphold certain image expectations from their fan base. Rock stars are expected to act wild and crazy always engaging in scandals to keep their fans wanting more. While a majority of these people are addicts with psychological issues who usually die from overdoses of illicit drugs many actually have families and are regular normal people when they are not in the spotlight.
The most noticeable for moment displaying how serious their drug addictions were was when I witnessed Brenda going through a withdrawal because her body was craving the drug. Seeing her inject drugs into her body is still difficult to process in my mind. Watching Dicky was equally as sad because of the possible career he threw away because of a drug addiction. All three people have very sad stories. Unfortunately Brenda passed away and Boo Boo still supports his drug addiction by stealing.
His argument is that, culturally, we tend to respect admire, glorify, and fear evil acts. The people who do mass killings usually imitate other copy-cat mass shooters. Metcalf also think that “They had often been bullied or neglected as children, had grown up into loners, and often recently lost their last shred of emotional connection or support (job, girlfriend) with the world” (par 3). They may also assume that they will never be forgotten if they kill more people than others. There are some men who think of themselves in grandiose terms and are just upset that the world have failed them.
