I agree with Zinczenko on his critical viewpoint on how he looks at the fast food industry. Fast food is part of the blame because most of them are not healthy and are bad for consumers. The calories of a Big Mac, medium fry, and a medium Coke are almost equivalent to the daily intake of these industry’s consumers. Zinczenko uses the analogy of a simple salad we would assume is healthy. Our fast food industry needs to provide these nutritional facts in easy reach for their customers.
The addictive and yet fattening qualities associated with fast food leave people constantly craving one more bite. However, Schlosser makes a decent point in the epilogue section of his book when he states that under no circumstances is anyone actually forced to purchase and consume fast food products and those who desire change should simply "stop buying it" (Pg. 269). No matter how many excuses the fast food industry or average consumer comes up with, consuming fast food is just not worth the endless list of consequences
Eating at a fast food restaurant is inexpensive, fast, and convenient for many Americans. However, people have preferences, including this writer, for which McDonald’s is better than In-N-Out. Although In-N-Out restaurant Although In-N-Out offers "Quality you can taste", McDonald's restaurant has progressively has improved the quality of their product and its nutritional value making it the better fast food restaurant. Currently McDonald’s offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with an extensive menu. In-N-Out only offers lunch and dinner with a limited menu.
Fast food restaurants dont force the clients to buy and eat there. There are comments that people make and say that fast food restaurants should carry warning labels like the ones for tobacco and alcohol. I disagree, people should know what's right or wrong, good or bad, healthy or unhealthy. It is their responsibility, just like Mitch Jordan from Sacramento, California said, "Eat a lot, do nothing, and get fat. Eat a lot, exercise a lot, and stay healthy.
The situation is very ironic because the grocery stores with nutritious food advocates for fast food restaurants that are, in context, competing with their sales. Prices of fast food products appear cheaper than full home cooked meals. On average, costumers pay four dollars for a drink, a burger, and a side item. Additionally, fast food is fast. Each fast food corporation has special procedures to keep their paying costumers happy by giving them exactly what they asked for, fast food.

Initially, Zincenko is declaring that fast food companies are contributing to obesity because of lack of alternatives. It is very convenient to find fast food places in short
They decided not to upgrade the fast food standers. They feel that if a consumer feels it is far too unhealthy for them they won’t eat it. They claim that if eaten in moderation fast food is not unhealthy at all. If a person exercises regularly like they should an occasional fast food visit won’t hurt them at all. They thought it wasn’t there place to tell the company to make better healthier food, they feel that’s like telling each individual to eat healthier, this is basically telling them what to eat.
While it is more convenient to just pull through, it would be more cost efficient to get sandwich meat and freezer food; not to mention it’s healthier. Especially considering they sit for the majority of the time not burning even a small portion of the calories they intake compared to the average American. As for the graveyard shift doctors, nurses, etc. they have every option afforded to them as any other working man or woman. They may not be able to run to Applebee’s and get a fresh salad but just a little planning and they can bring their own meals.
Brody Janusz VanSickle ENG 151 11/5/14 McHenry County School Lunches Needs Change Eating highly fatty and unhealthy foods for lunch doesn’t seem like the most appropriate way to go about your eating habits, but according to the majority of McHenry County public school lunches it is perfectly acceptable. There is clearly a problem when fried food items and questionable “meat” come before fruit and vegetables in student’s lunch options, which are specifically designed to hold a good nutritional value. Instead of supplying students with pizza, bosco sticks, chicken by-products, these should be replaced with organic goods that consist of high counts of protein and vitamins that are recommended for a healthy lifestyle.
