In a society that is often obsessed with being entertained, the qualities and sacrifices made by doctors and surgeons are often ignored. Significant evidence will be provided to prove that duties and workmanship of a heart surgeon are more strenuous than that of a professional athlete. The evidence provided will prove that doctors and surgeons should be paid more and have a higher "hero" status that that of a professional athlete. Professional athletes are involved in an economically profitable business. They are appreciated by millions of fans.
The prices of tickets are outrageous. Position 3: Forcing athletes to give back time by doing community service is great. It forces them to portray a positive attitude about being an athlete. My personal interest in the role of an athlete is serious, because a professional athlete wasn’t just given that position, or job, he or she had to earn it through hard work and dedication, and somewhere along the line in their youth another professional athlete inspired them to want to be
The countless hours over many years takes toll on their bodies is why they should make as much as they. Professional athletes get paid what they deserve. Professional athletes get paid millions every year, which they deserve much for many different reasons. They are subject to numerous injuries every year. The athletes are lucky to make it through a year with out being hurt and having to miss one game, if not more.
Most fans enjoy a team more than they do a player. That’s what makes a team sport fun to watch and cheer for. It’s not about the one player but a collection of players doing something together for the same result. So when a player is caught using sports enhancing drugs the fans dislike the player but still root for their team. In the fans eyes, these players tarnish the game.
It’s hard to work in this industry because it’s not just handed to you. You’re not just given a work schedule and get paid by the hour and many people don’t understand that. They don’t know what is behind the scenes. You must have a contract with an agency and then go on castings, if you are selected then ( which it’s a 99% chance you’re not) some models gets less than a hundred dollars to a couple thousand. It’s a very rewarding job but people don’t even try to understand what models go through and how hard it is.
PE 250 (Online) October 26, 2011 Youth Sports Today, youth sports play a big role in American Society and to most it has become a part of their everyday life. There are many advantages and disadvantages with being involved and or playing youth sports. Some people will side with the fact that sports build confidence, responsibility and a healthy life style, others will argue that youth sports build tension and aggression. Are we teaching the youth confidence, accountability and a healthy way of life, or are we exposing them to a life style of tension and aggression? What is the truth about youth sports?
How Athletes Should be Viewed as Role Models We live in a time when the lives of everyone are opened and scrutinized in great detail at a moment’s notice. Athletes who work hard and do their best can make one unwise decision today, and tomorrow they will be all over the news. In light of today’s social media and instant access to the news, the question many parents have on their minds is, “Should I allow my child to look up to professional athletes as a role model?” It is impossible for youth not to look up to great athletes. Parents should attempt to guide their children to emulate the characteristics that make athletes successful, but also teach them to understand that all people are human and make mistakes. Athletes, for the most part, are no different from today than they ever were.
I am very active, very into sports and in some cases I do have that thinking I’m the best attitude but I call it confidence. Confidence is what makes me take a chance and try new things, the jocks like to show off their skills and be the center of attention, and that is what I love to do. It might sound conceded and that is how outside people may see us but jocks do have inside feelings and aren’t just stuck up and stupid. Some people are just born with an athletic ability, some more than others, but in my opinion that does not give others the right to discriminate against sporty people. One could say I have been a jock ever since I was 5 when I started playing softball but I am proud to say I am and I will continue to be.
Its used today to make hard decisions that the referees or umpires seem to miss or can’t decide on. This technology has a lot of room to grow and get even better. If that’s possible. The media plays a huge part in the world of sports. Media has the most potential to grow out of all other technology.
Pushing your children into playing sports will lead to emotional problems in teenage years. We all have dreams for our children, just as our parents had for us. Some have dreams of our children one day becoming successful doctors, lawyers or even professional athletes. Watching sports on TV and dreaming of your child being on the tube playing can be a reality for some, but for most it will just be a dream. After all, many Americans fall into the belief that success and money equals happiness.
