Poverty is not only the major cause of social problems challenging every country but also the source of global crisis. Namely, Cambodia is one of the countries where many citizens live under the poverty level – they are even unable to afford their basic needs.
To solve with this tough problem, the most important point to consider is the human resource building. As it is known, most of the Khmer citizens are lack of education, for they experienced in civil war for many years. They could not access to education. Moreover, the educational system is currently still poor. The quality of education is failed to reach the required standard. Therefore, the Royal Government of Cambodia should widely promote the benefits of education to every citizen by any means as much as possible. Ensuring the equal opportunity to access to education is also the best one. The government should not only provide free primary and secondary education but also provide free or at a very low fee for higher education to the citizens – the poor and rural citizens shall be given priority. Besides, scholarship is a very good deal. The government should find more scholarships by requesting to high standard educational countries. The more scholastic the citizens can achieve, the more knowledgeable they are.
The second most important point is to make more investments. That is, the law and the statute on investment shall not be been so strict and complicated. Also, the government should both provide more opportunities and make something better such as the construction of physical infrastructure to attract the investors. Investments make job opportunities for the citizens as well as help reduce the unemployment. In addition to this, the citizens should be trained to improve their skilled labor by the experts. The more the citizens are trained, the more skillful they are – the more skillful they are, the more qualitative they produce.
