Video gaming systems entertain people of all ages. To compensate for the broad variations in interest level, maturity, skill, and finances, there are many different systems to choose from. These systems differentiate quite a bit so it is important, before buying, that you understand each system’s capabilities and determine which will best support your playing style and needs. The two articles both present reasons why video games might not be all bad for mankind. They both highlight the positive aspects of the engagement of video game playing, while mentioning critics’ opinions; however both articles neglect to personally acknowledge the negatives that come with avid video game playing. In fact, both authors refute every acknowledgement to critics’ opinions of video games with a benefit. While I agree with the cognitive benefits of video games that both authors present, I think they should have discussed some of the real problems that can derive from them.
