All humanistic studies are conducted unscientifically. This is a strength of this is that they are less artificial in the way they conduct their studies, this in turn makes the tests more ecologically valid. However a weakness of this is that they have no objective results and they are unable to control variables. This makes causality harder to establish and means psychologists are unable to predict what is going to happen. The humanistic approach represents the ‘healthy half of psychology’ and suggests that we are all with good intentions.
She writes on how you can have your own natural beauty in your own way. Being perfect is not beauty. It is how you are as a person and how you look at life. Beauty is skin deep not just how we look, and how we dress or what kind of music we listen to. Beauty can be achieved with enough discipline and self-devotion.
The various forms present two major problems; the problem of justice, and the issue of having to predict the consequences of an action. One variant within utilitarianism is Hedonistic or Classic utilitarianism. Which looks at the view ‘what is good for an individual is what tends to promote happiness or pleasure to the individual’. This holds that the only intrinsic good is pleasure, and that the only intrinsic bad is pain. Everything else is good only insofar as it creates pleasure, and bad only insofar as it creates pain.
Happiness Paper University of Phoenix PSY/225 Kimberly Kinsey Happiness Paper What is happiness? Some would say it is being in a state of joy, having contentment or maybe even partaking in something that is pleasurable. Happiness can mean many different things to many different people. The state of happiness is subjective to the individual person experiencing the emotion that contributes to their well-being. What does happiness achieve?
These modalities are also known as representational systems (rep systems) as they are the primary ways we represent, code, store and give meaning or language (linguistic) to our experiences. If you ascertain your client’s modality you can talk to them in a way that they will feel most comfortable because a person will find one of the senses easier to imagine and can therefor create their own comfort zone. Kinaesthetic (feeling) Kinaesthetic imagery can be further divided into, sense of touch, temperature, movement, and feelings. When you’re giving a demonstration, the people who always ask you to demonstrate on them so they can feel the technique, are very likely to be kinaesthetic learners. Kinaesthetically oriented people want to get lots of hands-on experience so they can feel how something is done.
I will analyze my argument through a utilitarian point of view and try to demonstrate why it should be legalized. First off, to be able to understand my argument one must be able to understand the point of view of that of a utilitarian. To make it short and simple for a utilitarian happiness is consequently the result of an action, and if that action produces the greatest pleasure then that action is morally right. Also if the driven action lessens pain and or lessens suffering, then that action is absolutely permissible (And if it is the action that results in the most happiness total, then it is not just permissible, but obligatory.). Knowing this, Cannabis causes millions of Americans pleasure, pain relief, and undeniably is a passed time to “Stoners.” So, why is Cannabis illegal if it is said to have so many benefits?
There were a limited number of models to choose from and once you transform, you look just like other people who share the same model. Everyone wears a name tag, which is the only difference. The purpose to transform is to create a perfect society of physically attractive people, so that there was utopia and harmony. Similarities in the story “Harrison Bergeron” and “Number 12 Looks Just Like you,” is that everyone is the same. Both stories lack the fact the everyone is unique.
However, Goodness is something that Plato has never properly established what The Form of the Good exactly is but we recognise it because we understand how they correspond to our intuitive knowledge of the Form of the Good. On the other hand, the physical inanimate objects are the least important of the Forms because they encourage people to accept things at face value and not look belong their senses. The Forms come from a world of perfection which are illuminated by The Form of the Good which is at the top of the hierarchy and is the source of which all the other Forms stemmed from. Gaining knowledge of The Good means that you will then be able to develop a further awareness and understanding of the other Forms. A clear example of this would be in Plato’s analogy of The Cave.
Ease is described as contentment, a state conducive to performance. Transcendence is the state of surmounting current conditions. Transcendence is different from the other two states because it represents the “patient’s potential for extraordinary performance as an end.” (Kolcaba, 1991) The physical context pertains to bodily sensations. The phsychospiritual context includes self-awareness and one’s personal meaning of life. The social context represents interpersonal, family, and cultural relationships.
There are essentially two forms of equality; formal equality and substantive equality. The Equality Trust defines formal equality as “The formal approach to equality and non-discrimination supports the position that a person’s individual physical or personal characteristics should be viewed as irrelevant in determining whether they have a right to some social benefit or gain. At the heart of most protagonists’ defence of this model is the principle of merit.” (Equality Trust 2007 2). However formal equality needs to be facilitated to be successful and therefore it is supported by substantive equality. Substantive equality can also be referred to
