China was completely contrary from Central Africa on economic, political, and cultural bases during the 1500-1800. From 1000-1500 China led the world in economic development and there after experiencing the trauma of rule by the Yuan Dynasty, China adopted policies that favoured Chinese political and cultural tradition. On the other hand, the kingdoms of central Africa had initiated commercial relations with Portuguese merchants and diplomatic relations with Portuguese monarchy. Portuguese traded for slaves and slave trade undetermined the authority of the King. The Kings were converts of Christianity just to establish closer relations with Portuguese whereas Chinese has great problems with the exclusivity of Christianity but the Jesuits were respectful of Chinese culture and won a few converts.
On the other hand, the other countries weren’t able to succeed because they conquered by Europeans or their population died out from diseases or plagues (DOC 4, 5, 8). An additional document that would be used, would be a map of the different voyages and attacks Europe went on and did, this would help to see how they were able to succeed. Before Europe went on voyages at sea, China did, they had huge ships that were at the size of 400 ft. long, but they receded from this project and went on to another one. Admiral Zheng he was the main leader of the Chinese voyages that took place before the European explorations. These Chinese explorations were really helpful, but also really expensive because of the large timber ships that they built.
This increase in power made many countries and governments hungry for more power and would do anything to find it. The only thing that stood between Europe and the East were the Muslims. Europeans had been searching for a cheaper and easier route to the East for quite some time but when Marco Polo came back from his almost twenty year journey to China, their desire to find this new route became even more intense. Marco Polo brought back with him tales of luxurious items like rose-tinted pearls and golden pagodas. they realized more than ever that they needed to find this new route to the East.

He studied law at the University of Salamanca but decided to try his luck with the Americas in 1501. During 1518, he went and served under the governor of Cuba. With the governor's permission, he organized a crew to accompany him to Mexico. Just before he left for Mexico, Governor Velazquez revoked Cortez's commission because he feared that Cortez would not recognize his authority once in Mexico.
When they received the gold, they quickly prepared an expedition to the wealthy kingdom, city in Mexico. New Spain was a viceroyalty, an administrative unit of the Spanish colonial empire. New Spain colonized all over the world. They governed Spanish conquests in North and Central America, the Caribbean, South America’s west side, and a few territories in the Asia-Pacific region. They conquered so much land, that they were one of the largest empires in the world.
Canada had a very high lack of employment in which the Chinese had good opportunities to get jobs to be able to buy land, grow their own crops to feed their families. In 1858 gold was discovered along the Fraser River in British Columbia. There was a high demand for minors so that encouraged even more Chinese immigrants to come to Canada. In the mid-nineteenth century, due to the push-pull factors such as economic and political instability in China, and the gold rush in California, thousands of Chinese migrated to the United States. Chinese immigrants came to America in search for jobs and hopes for a better life. Many Chinese immigrant men took upon jobs constructing the Trans-Pacific railroad which was completed in 1869. During the economic crisis that erupted in America shortly after the completion of the railroad, discrimination against Chinese immigrants grew, making it nearly impossible for them to find jobs. To make the situation even worse for the Chinese, California amended its constitution in the late 1870s, which restricted Chinese immigrants from citizenship; in-turn prohibiting anyone from hiring them legally.
