Ashley Coleman Petrie’s Electronics Chapter 3 1. What qualities might Jim possess that would make him a successful project manager? Motivated, dedicated, has experience with information technology and well mannered. 2. How do you think Jim should respond to Ella’s implied pressure about the importance of the project to her? He should reassure her that he understands that this project is very important to her and that he will keep her updated on his progress and that he will do a great job on it. 3. What strategies might Jim employ to deal with a very busy team member such as Carmen Sanchez? He should stay very organized, understand that communication is very important and to stay in contact with her by all means necessary, to hold everything down for her that she cannot do. He just has to focus on his tasks and talk to her whenever she gets a chance to learn from her. Chapter 4 1. Look over the scope statement (Figure 4-1). If you were an employee at Petrie’s Electronics, would you want to work on this project? Why or why not? I would because it seems very interesting and it will also help the company succeed even more. I would be for helping the company that I’m working for. I’m all for proving superb customer service by rewarding loyal customers it is a great idea and many other stores are doing similar methods for customer service. It is also a great way to learn so that if I want to move up in the company one day I will already be used to working on projects similar to this. 2.
