Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to be water conscious. Central Idea: Being water conscious can help the world combat its water crisis. Introduction Attention-getting Device: An author by the name of Kirby states that every 20 seconds, a child does from a water-related disease in his news article named “Water Scarcity” published in 2004. This is not directly a problem in the United States, but other countries need help to fight their water crisis. Not only children, but their mothers and fathers also need cleaner water to drink. If people assist independently or as a community, then the water crisis will greatly reduce. Reveal the Topic: I will be talking about water pollution and its effects, and ways that we can help overcome the water crisis in the world. Establish Credibility an Goodwill: I have done extensive research on several water organizations and how they combat water problems in different parts of the world. Preview: I will explain the problem of water pollution, second I will discuss the cause of the water crisis, and the many things we can do to preserve our precious water that we need to survive. (Transitions: Let’s start with our main problem, water pollution.) Body Main Point 1: Water pollution affects every living creature in the world like bugs, animals, and us, humans. Not only does it water pollution hurt us, it also affects our economic state and safety. Water pollution affects humans’ well-being by creating infectious diseases. Sub-point: The author who wrote the book The Water We Drink, states that water pollution creates water-borne diseases infections such as cholera, typhoid and infectious diarrhea, which persists due to lack of clean water. He also states that over 1.5 billion people in the world do not have access to clean water and almost four million people die every year of a water related disease. Sub-point:
