I am a natural leader of people. When in doubt, I will not hesitate to get advice because failure is not an option to me. Some of the challenges that I will be faced with will be how to juggle a full time job, family and schooling. The reason for going back to school is not only to further my education for future work but also to be more proficient in assisting my children with their schoolwork. Technology has progressed to a point where I feel that I need do something to help me keep pace with the changing world.
Dear: National Junior Honor Society Committee I currently represent the “Character” Trait of NJHS by being honest to others and very workable with my fellow peers. Many people rely on me as a very good person to come to in a great time of need. I deeply care for my family and other people. I also listen to others ideas to help improve their idea or to help make it a reality. I will use all of these characteristics to help this organization reach out to people in need.
Some chapters that really spoke to me would be the chapters on time management, getting good grades, and working towards success. I really paid attention to the time management section the most. Since I really like to be active and busy all the time, I tend to bite off more than I can chew. I need to find a happy medium between working and playing. I am going to use some techniques described in this section such as scheduling early classes, studying in between classes and when I am studying, actually focusing.
I try hard to come into school because year 11 is a really important year for me. In general I am a confident person. I feel it is really important to be confident as it can help you as you grow up. I try and come across as a helpful and well mannered student. I like finishing tasks after I start them because it helps me become more motivated.
Team B: Mellissa Smith 1. What went well in the project? What could have gone better? I thought the project work itself was fun, creating the reports and memos and other communication were great practice for the real world. I really enjoyed getting to know 2 of my team members whom I worked very closely with on this project and will keep in touch with after this class is long over.
I did enjoy everything I learned on peer reviews and how effective those can be. Especially since I have been able to apply them to my job and to help expand my boss from just mundane comments to actual constructive reviews. Plagrisim is something that has been touched on since I was in middle school, possibly even elementary school but I can’t exactly remember back THAT far. Seeing how it has affected people in the spotlight has shed some huge light onto how it is a serious offensive and isn’t to be taken lightly. Sometimes I will draw and I have friends who are artists and someone taking their work and not giving them credit is a huge offense to them.
I strongly believe that I am a perfect candidate for the Collegiate High School program because I am an extremely dedicated person. I work hard for anything and everything I want to accomplish. I have learned to balance my school extracurricular activities, such as Stingarettes, and I am also employed at Schlotzky’s Deli on Palmer highway in Texas City. I always strive for the best, because being a child in the neighborhood I grew up in was not the easiest. I was always told that I would be the type of person to drop out of high school and never amount to anything in life.
Being an RA/CA will help improve me being much more responsible with a job. Whenever I have a job I am responsible. But I feel as though I can never be more responsible. I take any job I have seriously. I hope to be a great asset to the school.
The differences that Youth services have made in my life are going to help me in the community and make a difference in the future. I have developed skills that should benefit me in college and in life. I am smart, so I know I can make the right decisions. I am mature, so I know I can manage my own things. I am reliable, so I know I will try my hardest not to disappoint my fellow classmates and teachers.
