Values are what you want and need to achieve the goals you set for yourself and your family. Values can be obtained in many different ways. The most important piece for building values is your family. I am responsible as a mother for teaching my children what is right or wrong before, any other influence reaches them. I can only wish that what I have already instilled in my two children is a reflection of myself as a parent.

I believe it is vital that I approach parenting from the perspective that a child is part of a whole, meaning that when with the family, she is part of the family, when she is with her day care, she is part of the day care group, etc. One of the most important principles I incorporate is that of information processing theory. My personal learning style cannot be labeled or categorized by one specific style as described by (Kolb, 1985), but it is comprised of the different characteristics of the Diverger and Accommodator. I have the tendency to process information by intuition and emotions, yet the ability to process complex situations from different perspectives; this is the Diverger in me. The Accommodator in me disregards theories while gathering information through trial- and-error or the hands-on approach; this learning style in my opinion is also an extension of the Diverger.
