University of Phoenix Material Personality Reflection Using the textbook, the University Library, the Internet, and/or other resources, answer the following questions. Your responses to each question will vary but overall should be 700- to 1,050-words in length. 1. How would you define personality? Personality to me is the reflection of traits that an individual has learned from life experiences. The starting points of learning traits begin as soon as we are born and as we grow so do the traits we pick up. Personality traits are feelings, thoughts, and behaviors but there are many sub traits within the three. For example, people can feel happy, sad, angry, lonely, love, and exited. These are just a few and a variety of different scenarios triggers these feelings due to an individual’s personal thoughts. Thoughts can play a big role in an individual’s personality. I think that thoughts put the brain in movement and through thoughts people behave in different manners. Some thoughts seem to be learned at such an early age it later becomes an unconscious thought. For Example, a child that is raised in a family that shared their love with hugs might feel loved when hugged or giving a hug with no thought process of it at all. Everyone grows up in a different environment and through the environment a person is exposed too is how they will pick up different traits, which will build their personality. There is so many different aspects of personality it is overwhelming. I truly believe our personalities are a mixture of traits from our family (DNA) and the things individuals are exposed to in daily life.
