Dear: National Junior Honor Society Committee I currently represent the “Character” Trait of NJHS by being honest to others and very workable with my fellow peers. Many people rely on me as a very good person to come to in a great time of need. I deeply care for my family and other people. I also listen to others ideas to help improve their idea or to help make it a reality. I will use all of these characteristics to help this organization reach out to people in need.
As a manager, I can see myself inspiring my subordinates to think, grow and take responsibility for them. I do this by demonstrating belief in what my staff members can accomplish. I believe that I can help people to improve, and I enjoy managing and supporting their efforts. Moreover, observing the best in people is important to me. In fact, my ability to combine an acceptance of others as they are with the inspiration and encouragement they need to become even better is what makes me a valuable mentor, manager, co-worker, and friend.
Ways we can ensure standards stay high include providing excellent customer service, retaining good levels of communication, keeping them informed at all times, offer information in a professional manner, treating customers with a positive attitude and responding to customer feedback. Personal Development is important for all staff to consider regardless of the level at which they work. It is about taking note of aspirations and goals and planning a way of pursuing these. Those who make Personal Development plans tend to be healthier, happier, focused people. It is therefore important that all departments encourage their staff to work towards CPD and training and development

Person-Centred Care is an approach to care that respects and values the uniqueness of the individual, and seeks to maintain, even restore, their individuality. We do this by creating an environment that promotes personal worth and uniqueness, social confidence, respect, truthfulness, independence, engagement and hope 1.2 It is important to work in a way that embeds person centred values because, I believe that the person centred values is a process of continual learning and listening, acting in alliance with their family and friends and focusing on what is really important to someone today and in the future. It is important so we may able to assist people in saying what is important and we could help them to take control of their lives. 2.1The more you know the more you are capable of assisting. You can't help people if you don't know their needs or wants.
Important of Reflections Reflecting on my own practice is important because it allows me to assess what i am doing well, identify areas where you might like or may need more training or guidance in to ensure am performing to the best and meeting all standards and expectations within the care setting. It also helps me to think about what I am doing in the setting and always be aware of how I am working with others. Reflecting on my work practice can enhance and improve my confidence and self-esteem because I can look at what I am doing well, the things I have learnt and achieved and feel good about myself especially if I have been able to do something with ease which I use to find it difficult to do in the past, if I have been able to do something that I have never tried it before. This then gives me confidence to continue to work well and aim to try new things or use what new skills or knowledge I have gained in my care practices. Reflecting on my activities can help me learn from other people’s strategies.
To improve my own knowledge is very important to me and I really enjoy learning new skills which can benefit my roles or future roles. In doing this I feel I am progressing in my career, keeping myself desirable to other employers and maximising my potential to do well within my career. Therefore if I continue to develop professionally and improve my knowledge resulting in me improving my practice I will: * Become a positive role model to other staff * Be confident in abilities and future employment *

I believe that there is always an opportunity to help an individual and to make a positive impact on their life. I am eager to pursue a career in which I am able to help and care for people, becoming an occupational therapist would allow me to fulfill this ambition. Occupational therapy is a career for dedicated, reliable, trusting people who are able to develop relationships with patients quickly. I have these skills and I genuinely want to make a difference to people, & assist them to regain their independence. This will be achieved through a standardised approach to assessment, rehabilitation, education and health promotion.
