Communication Opinion HCS/320 Communication is a very important skill for every human to have, even more important when that communication involves your health. Which is why it is so vital for a physician or any other health care employee to have good and effective communication skills. In order to fully assist a patient the communication between the physician and patient should have a shared understanding. Without this very important tool in the health care field, the industry would do horrible. So in order for personnel in the health care field to have effective communication they have to follow a few basic elements and rules.
Communication between two individuals should be simple. When communicating, you need to make sure that you are getting your point across to the person which you are interacting with. Language/Communication: In my care setting, the language/communication barrier plays a major part for the majority of service users as English is not their first language. It can be somewhat difficult to understand and communicate effectively between the service users and the caregivers. But this is not always the case, as some of the staff may be able to play the role of translator, as they are fluent in that

Communication needs to clear and person centred as this will help build and maintain a healthy and balanced relationship between support worker and resident, without this basic skill the relationship will be severely hindered from the start.

There are four main communication styles, however not all of them are effective. There is aggressive, assertive, passive and passive/aggressive. Effective communication is a combination of non-verbal communication, the ability to recognize, understand and control your own emotions and attentive listening. It also helps an individual understand a person or situation and gives us the ability to resolve differences without conflict.
I feel bad, but I can’t do anything about it. I guess I’m not feeling much of anything. Identify and explain, using concepts from the text, at least one example of an obstacle to communicating emotions in the situation. We may not have total control over what we feel, but usually we can exert some control. Furthermore, we can exercise substantial control over how we do or don’t express our feelings and to whom we express them.
Often what is being communicated is not being received because we are all different. Some of the key aspects in overcoming and maintaining open communication with leaders and stakeholders. Willingness to talk and share information, and effectively presenting your point of views. Active listening. Some keys to consider- Address one issue at a time.
As a Human Service Professional it is vital that we understand and treat each client as an individual. A lot of times the client may think that they are only being seen or treated for one problem but it is rare that a client has a single issue. In all actuality one problem could be the central cause or influence to many other problems that the client may be facing. In this profession it is critical that to be able to help clients you have to be able to listen. As a professional we have to pay very close attention to what the client is trying to say with verbal and non-verbal communication.
Vital signs are a crucial part of caring for a patient in the health care industry as communication is a vital part of being effective in the health care industry. Communication is the key for providers and patients to have the most efficient outcome. Even though people have received quality care from provider for generations, lack of effective communication has made many cases more difficult to ensure the best possible care. The following will entail how effective communication incorporate the basic element of communication, how the basic element of effective communication differ from basic rules of health care communication, how a provider may encourage reluctant consumers candidly, and how may cultural differences influence communication.

Communication is important to obtain medical history, diagnose, establish treatment, and provide quality care to the patient. It is also important in order for the healthcare staff to work effectively. The provider should implement a culturally competent healthcare office.
S2 – Selling / Coaching – The leader still defines roles and tasks, but seeks ideas and suggestions from the worker. Decisions remain the leaders but communication is much more two-way. This style is used in situations where a worker has some competence but lacks commitment. The worker may need direction and supervision because they are still relatively inexperienced. They also need support and praise to build their self-esteem and involvement in decision-making to restore their commitment.
