1.2 - Explain the benefits of using person-centred thinking with individuals. Person centred thinking is the foundation of the plan. If we have that, then we can start with the planning. Having that set of thinking gives the individual the confidence that their plan will be only for their benefits. They know that they will be included in the planning and all the decision and the contents of the plan is for their benefits.
Dissatisfaction does nothing but dig us in an even bigger whole where we have to take more of a responsibility. Schwartz gave us tips on how to not regret as much. Not only regret not as much take pride and actually measure our expectations and not settle for something less than our true standard. 2. Which example of the “paradox of choice” resonated most deeply
This is also a contradiction in the same sense. Gladwell needs to decide if success is based off of the factors we cannot control such as financial situations and heritage, or if success is based off of controllable factors such as passion and dedication. I am going to go with the latter. Of course, it is more difficult to become a success if one is born in a lower-class; however being in a lower-class gives a person much more incentive to work hard for a better life. Gladwell points out that most success stories are alike.
In hindsight we always see ourselves not always doing the right thing, but once we learn from our mistakes things are much easier. Creatively that relates a lot to the workplace in due to Affirmative Action. Courtney Bowie, a senior staff attorney with the American
Whereas some are dismayed when they encounter yet another breakdown, you can be energized by it. You enjoy the challenge of analyzing the symptoms, identifying what is wrong, and finding the solution. You may prefer practical problems or conceptual ones or personal ones. You may seek out specific kinds of problems that you have met many times before and that you are confident you can fix. Or you may feel the greatest push when faced with complex and unfamiliar problems.
Although those are great encouraging tools, sometimes, we as humans will take our “dreams” too far, expecting too much from something that can only give so much. The more elaborate these dreams become, the farther you get from reality, and the more it becomes just an illusion you've created in your mind because reality is not what you want it to be. The Great Gatsby is a perfect example in itself, having many characters that are going through the same thing, when the illusion they have created becomes much more elaborate than the reality in which they live. Through the character Jay Gatsby, it is shown through his extensive search for Daisy, that the illusion he created of her and the life they would have together is not the reality in which it happens.
We choose success or failure. Through self-awareness, which is an ability possessed only by humans, we can identify the areas in which much energy is expended and to change them in order to be more proactive. Being proactive is taking responsibility for our own life. We cannot blame our shortcomings in life on our genetics, circumstances, or conditions. Proactive people recognize that they are “response-able” which means they have the ability to respond in a positive and effective manner.
Reality is the state of things as they exist. By this definition of reality, we can say that this is it… this world is reality. Why? Because reality is what a person perceives it to be… The perception is the key to reality. Our perception of our world and
But, we have to keep the traditions because our roots are in our traditions. The traditions give us context, bring us the rules, and reinforce our sense of belonging. Therefore, we should try our best to protect the traditional instead of rejecting them. Firstly, the traditions represent the beginning of our lives. Every person has his or her own traditions.
The first core belief is the concept of the autonomous, responsible and rational adult. Mezirow believed that the goal of transformational learning is “to gain the crucial sense of agency over ourselves and our lives" that is often associated with individuals reflecting on a dysfunctional operational system or company policy, and taking action to change it. A second core belief relates to knowledge creation that is constructivist. Human beings are active participants in the process of making meaning and are the creators of knowledge and hence engage in critical reflection. The pre-conditions that satiate the concept are full information, the ability to objectively evaluate arguments and freedom from self-deception or coercion.
