After viewing the film, it is evident Trevor’s idea of “Paying it Forward” displays how he is a true leader because during many occasions of the film he demonstrates the true qualities of leadership. Some of these include: courage, big thinker, risk taker, and optimism. Trevor shows courage when he stands up to his mother. Someone who is courageous believes in all of their standards and doesn’t get “swayed” by other people’s standards. When his mother gives his father another chance and invites him back to their home, Trevor was not okay with this idea and he was brave enough to show it by ignoring his father all week and talking to his mother, telling her she is making a mistake. Trevor also shows courage when trying to establish his goal of “Paying it Forward.” When his mother found out about their assignment she got very angry at the teacher and became doubtful that her son can do anything to change the world. This didn’t stop Trevor though, and he continued to attempt to change the world for the better by helping others. For example, when he invited the homeless man over for dinner and gave him a place to sleep. The method Trevor chose to acquire success with this project proved he is a big thinker which is one of the qualities of leadership. He came up with the idea that if he helps people, then those people can help other people, and so on. This became known as “paying it forward” because instead of helping people and expecting the same in return you pass it on to other people in need and end up helping more people out. Trevor’s method was fairly simple; he used tree diagrams to help him put his vision into perspective and planned out who he wanted to help. For example, he helped his mom Arlene realize that she should forgive her mother for everything that happened in the past. Also, Trevor proves he is a risk taker. Taking risks is important for leadership
