Tim O’Connor Family Interview My Mother My mother has been one of the hardest working women that I have ever known in my life so I decided to sit down and have an interview with her. See how she got there, why she chose to take the jobs she did. I learned a very interesting thing talking to her. Her first job was at Social Security as soon as she got out of High School. At this time you did not need a college degree to work in this industry and she got the job after her first interview.
But other people have the contrasting belief that name should not be changed. If we look closely at how the author defines herself, we discover that a last name should be kept for one’s whole life. Love cannot be replaced if a woman doesn’t change her name. “A wise friend who finds herself in
Whilst it is Hannah’s right to make decisions for herself and choose to take the medication or not, in this case from the information given it could be detrimental to her health and therefore I would explain to Hannah that the information given to me in confidence; through Hannah not taking her prescribed medication she may be at risk of harm and therefore I would need to pass the information on to my Manager to ensure her wellbeing is being addressed. It is Hannah’s choice who she shares information with and I would give her my assurance that the information would not be shared with her daughter unless she consented to it. Bii Identify the range of people who may need to know about Hannah’s situation, and describe any tensions that may occur if the information is shared. The range of people that would need share the information would be those directly with her care, healthcare professionals including her GP who can work with Hannah to help her understand the benefits of taking her medication. If the information was shared with the daughter this could cause upset and potential breakdown of the relationship.
Certainly, Ms. Brockovich does this, immediately in her first meeting with Donna Jenson; when Mrs. Jensen asks, “You're a lawyer?” Erin immediately replies, “NO, no... I hate lawyers. I only work for them.” However, each of the Codes and Guides also promotes the idea that a paralegal should “maintain a high standard of professional conduct” (NFPA Model Code §1.3) and refrain from “any conduct that offends the dignity… of proceedings before the court.” (Ibid.) Certainly, Erin’s comment above could be interpreted to denigrate the profession. Further, there are many instances throughout the film, in which Erin’s behavior could be said to be less than professional.
| Perry & Mason | Medical Malpractice Actions | | | | | Perry & Mason Since Sally has been a legal professional for ten years and is now a senior paralegal she is aware that there is only so much that she is allowed to do in assisting Molly. As Molly is a friend she should refer her to a lawyer in her office, due to their friendship Molly may get the impression that there is more that Sally could do if she were to start working on Molly’s case. The best way to keep any legal issues from arising on Sally’s part that could endanger her career its best that she refer her to the proper legal counsel that she needs. If Molly persists she should let her know that she cannot advise her. Sally should recognize her legal
She states that if we continue to participate we will be a “repressive society” which to me seems very one sided, she speaks to everyone in this essay, because she wants everyone to know that if you participate in the pc, we are not only being ridiculous but we are being a “repressive society.” This essay, or what seems to be an essay, is not an effective argument because of the way she argues, she does not see things from both sides, but she chooses to voice her side and why she thinks it is ridiculous! By just reading the essay once, made me believe that this is not a great essay or argumentative essay why? Because she just argues her point and not seeing it through how other people think of it, just her point of view. As I have stated in my introduction,
Given that Susan did not necessarily plan to have a child at that stage in her life would not make it fair that it be put upon her. I strongly agree with Thomson’s view that the fact that she didn’t offer her body to have a child within her, she then has no obligation to keep the fetus alive. And for her to have an abortion may be a bit selfish and inconsiderate of the baby’s potential, but it would not be unjust for her to do so. In Tammy’s case, after having decided to keep the child, to decide to get an abortion so late into the pregnancy is in fact unjust. By doing so, she taking away the fetus’ life because it would be so inconvenient for her in the short run of her life.
I suppose that sometimes it just comes with the territory of her job, but it would still be in her best interest not to make those snap decisions without some facts to base it on. That would have been no different if she had seen the woman getting out of that car and found a reason to deny her assistance based on what her snap judgment told her about the woman. The woman would have been denied assistance that she truly needed. Sometimes we all need to sit back and remember that not everyone in this world is out to get over on others. Now, I do know that there are plenty of people that do this, but it’s not even our place to judge people at all.
Secondly, answering either one would create separation and it’s not her position to do so. I would think that the paralegal would recommend that the couple seek council elsewhere so as to not lose the friendship of either party. Thirdly, and most Running Head: UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF LAW 3 importantly, if the paralegal were to choose to answer the question for either party, she would be engaging in the unauthorized practice of law. You would think that if the paralegal answered the questions for either party, that’s exactly what she would be doing…answering questions, not practicing law. But, knowing what constitutes the unauthorized practice of law is very important because we as paralegals have to perform many legal task that were originally performed by lawyers.
