I love helping my kids with their homework. While helping them with their homework there is a lot of things that I learn that I never knew. Even when I become a teacher there will be some things that I be learning as I teach my students. There are a lot of obstacles that I have to encounter on a day to day basis. As I am doing my schooling online there are times that I just want to quit but I know to myself that I have come this far and I refuse to turn around.

I have always just gave myself the excuse that I am not a good writer and that’s how I am going to live. After reading chapter one I recognize that I have been letting myself live without giving myself a chance to catch up and learn what I need to know about the subject. After learning what is taught to me in this class I will need to keep using my new writing skills or they will be lost. My strengths are reading and understanding the assignment, typing the paper on the computer and generating creative writing skills. My weakness are using correct English grammar and punctuation, staying on topic and citing and references.
All I needed was some time off this destructed relationship that for some reason it was hard to let go of and some time off school. I found myself in a deep hole when I caught myself doing homework an hour before the due time or taking test where I would score as if I took it blindfolded. I lost myself. Weeks and weeks I tried to set a mental plan to attempt to get on track but each week I lost focus. My second semester I left with a great GPA of a 3.4 and to be off course because of some meaningless guy was absurd.
As I journeyed through high school I struggled to find motivation to read even the assigned novels and reading. Eventually, I fell victim to the allure of spark notes and the time it saved. After sports were over for me the distraction became a job. Working six days a week at Zaxbys left no time for trivial pleasures such as reading. My saving grace became AP English IV my senior year.
I believe that I came out of that class with an A, all because of my teacher. I know that I should put all of my effort into my work regardless of the teacher or the teaching style, but I was just immature back then and did not realize how it would hurt me in the future. In the eight grade, I had an assignment to read a book called The Battle of Jericho, but I did not want to do it. I figured I would just skim through the book and tell the teacher I read it, until I received a piece of paper which explained that I must type an essay about the book. I had to read it now, so I told myself to just do it and get it done, but I had to go get the book first.
He is a smart student that just needs to work on these behaviors. First of all, his first behavior that needs to be addressed is that Anthony draws on his papers during Math. I have decided to talk with him to figure out why he is drawing. I didn’t know if he was drawing because he was bored in class, or because he didn’t understand the material and couldn’t follow along. I decided to meet with him to figure out the cause.
I mainly pushed them off because elementary teachers always wanted some kind of colorful and creative diorama or drawing. Even though I found this fairly simple, I just didn’t enjoy the trivial coloring or gluing. I would put these off so much that I would even have to ask my dad to come help me finish just so I could get to bed on time. However as I grew older I began to enjoy schoolwork more. It was becoming more complex, especially in math.
