Another reason students join CAB is for the planning of events. Most people I know get excited when planning huge, fun events. While planning these events, you may learn tips on how to plan and coordinate events for later in life. Being an individual who believes having a social life is very important, this knowledge of college life allowed me to prepare myself for it at an earlier level. I enjoy going out with friends and family, attending school events, going to parties, going to all my school basketball games, and all that falls under a social category. I learned to balance my social and academic life very well over the years and I am proud to say that my grades can speak on that statement. I know I have the ability to take on college life and I cannot wait for my journey to begin. Being a Latina, a number of stereotypes are already placed upon me.
Avid because it would help me in preparing for college as well as helping me with skills I can use throughout my middle school and high school years. I would like to have a second chance to get it right because I don’t think I realized how much I needed this opportunity and how beneficial it is for me. I didn’t do everything exactly right when it came to school and the Avid program but I know that I can. The reason I like avid is because I enjoyed a lot of the activities like getting to play philosophical chairs. Another reason why I want to be in Avid is because you get to go on trips that are beneficial to life and future endevors.
There are countless things that people have to do every single day in life so going college will help give you a better idea of what the definition of life really is. And the last reason why college matters is because it helps you interact with other people better. Communication plays a very important role every single day and a lot of employers rely on their employees to have sufficient communication skills. Some people tend to interact with people very well and others don’t. For the people who don’t interact with people well, college will give you the opportunity to enhance your communication skills for the real world.

For shopping, department stores and malls were easily accessible. Feeling brave I started exploring the different expressways and learning their direction as to North, South, East and West. Something I had never seen or driven on before were the over passes stacked on top of each other, like the one in Dallas, Texas they call the high five. Last, but not least, I began sightseeing, like the sculptured horses of Las Colinas, Irving, where President Kennedy was shot and visiting South Fork where the sitcom Dallas was filmed. In conclusion, trying to stay organized helped me to be stress free with my move across the nation from North to South.
You only have so much time in a day and when you are a mother attending college and working there are sacrifices you are going to have to make to be more efficient; such as your friends, money, and your youth. I love hanging out with my friends and including them in my life but I realize, given my circumstances that I just can’t be with them all the time like in high school. I tell my friends that it’s part of growing up, they fully understand and support me and planning a study night together is a great way to make your time with one another more valuable. Saving money is an essential part of being able to balance out my bills, pay for all my books for college, and taking care of my children’s needs. Just like many other people in the world I live paycheck to paycheck but I have learned that putting back as little as five dollars out of check and keeping all your change will help you out more than you think.
