Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) challenges the patients negative thoughts and replaces them with constructive positive thinking which leads to healthier behaviour. People rarely realise that they have a problem with their thinking so this is the main thing that therapists work on - making the maladaptive thoughts conscious. The therapist should challenge these thoughts, once made obvious to the patient, which would lead to them understanding that there is no basis for them to think in a negative way - effectively making the problem disappear. CBT works by the therapist helping their client identify the negative thoughts they have about the word, themselves and the future. The client also learns what the consequences of these thoughts are/could be.
I’m trying to present the revelatory explanation to the decisions of what we would do in both situations concerning the stories; utilitarianism handles the amount of happiness and distress our decisions create to make what matters. When we want to be happy, we increase our opportunity for acting appropriately, and then we chose to decrease the distress around us. Given this, we may have to break some moral guidelines to reach the result. In order to fulfill my choice for the #1, I would follow my thoughts of breaking my moral code and pull the lever. For #2, I would relinquish my morals and leave my soul in God’s hand to give my own
Stress is defined as “the process by which we perceive and respond to certain events, called stressors, that we praise as threatening or challenging” (Myers, 2012, page 275). Stress is about an individual or is personal and is affected by the choices the person makes as an individual. The stress that is bad for you deprives you the ability to experience joy, happiness, enjoy life and who you are. That is why it is very important to recognize symptoms of stress and identify ways to bring the stress under control. The good stress is the kind that will help keep you motivated to be productive and be able to achieve the goals we set for ourselves.

I chose to contrast Erikson’s theory and the selective optimization with compensation theory. In Erikson’s theory he states that the final stage of psychosocial development theory is Integrity Versus Despair. Acceptance is relevant to achieve Integrity. Whether the outcome is good or bad, successful or disappointing, having good friends or bad friends; we should accept life as it is without being bitter or angry. With Despair, you regret your past decisions, you’re angry with the course of your life, and you feel that your time for achieving your “wanted” life is running short.
It raised the client’s awareness about the inconsistence between her words and behaviors and encouraged her to think about her level of satisfaction in the relationship; on the other hand, it helped the worker to explore deeply her feelings about the relationship. As a matter of fact, studies indicate that challenges can lead to clients’ resistance and are infrequently used in the counseling sessions (e.g. Olson & Clariborn, 1990; Barkham & Shapiro, 1986). However, other studies show that challenges, if presented appropriately, can be helpful to therapeutic relationship (Cloud & Townsand, 2003; Hill, 2004; Culley & Bond, 2004). Here the essay aims to discuss why using challenges in an appropriate manner can be helpful to therapeutic relationship and facilitate the case progress.
Adversity is like an experiment that allows one to make choices that will act in retrospect to their decisions. Difficulties in life are fated to mankind so they can learn and grown from those mistakes, but if unable to it serves as regret later on in life. Although the journey to get there may be tiresome and degrading this little push separates the leaders from the
For example people who are afraid of situations they help them to change their thinking by counselling allow them to talk about their fear whilst using probe questions to give them room to open up more and make their own suggestions .Though this process can not remove their problem but it helps them to think in a positive way. It is normally used to overcome anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Example using a humanistic approach. to help someone, with learning disabilities, to live a more valuable life. This could be planning person centred support to empower the individual to manage their own
It is important to adopt an open minded approach and understanding to other peoples beliefs, and not expect them to conform or cooperate to your ideals as this can only cause further complications and conflicts. 2.1 Constructive feedback includes both positive feedback and opportunities for future development and people’s reactions to receiving constructive feedback can vary. Where some may agree to what is being said and show a desire to improve by asking questions or for further feedback others can become defensive or anxious and focus on what the deem to be “negative feedback”, and others may look for reassurance. 2.2 It is just as important to seek feedback when needed as this enables you to identify areas for improvement and also shows that you are able to learn and listen to others. Seeking feedback also determines what is already working well and shows that you are open to improving your own practice.
In life we may across hurdles holding us back, hypnosis and hypnotherapy are used to control these hurdles or maybe even get rid of them. There will always be doubts and things may never be proven but I quite like the air of mystery that goes along with hypnotism. If it makes people feel better and it changes even the tiniest of problems for someone then what’s the harm? We all strive to make people feel good and to do right by people, to change someone’s day and to make them smile….to maybe even take away a bit of the world that’s on their shoulders. So therefor I cannot think of a better example than the very mysterious and the very talked about
