There were many families and other people killed because people don’t like each other and wanted to take over each other. In the Bosnian genocide there was a guy just like Paul trying to save everyone from the evil and to make sure everyone was saved. When people tend to ignore others and don’t respect each other things start to turn ugly and go for the worse. Things like this are still going on all around the world. The only people that helped the Bosnians out was the UN, it was just like how the UN was helping the Tutsis.
The town in “The Lottery” was symbolic of how humanity can become cemented to certain traditions and events, and find trouble when trying to create something new. The following generations will then imitate this, and find it hard to empower change, due to the fact that they have never lived in any different state. When reaching a state of change, one must empower a whole society to start innovation. Some traditions can keep communities linked together through generations, but it can also keep them restricted to insipid, unstable, or menacing events and
While the drive for collectivized agriculture was a wide going trend, kulaks needed to be destroyed. Stalins way of doing this was complete taking away all food and grain that they grew. (Doc.6) However the Kulaks didn’t make it easy; they would kill and poison their animals, kill government officials, and collective farm activists. (Doc.5) They would burn their barns and destroyed machinery. By them doing this the Soviets now had a right to kill them, and that was done until there were no Kulaks left.
Even more are lost each year to other causes such as weather or disease, 21,100 in 2012, plus 3,600 dead from unknown causes. So of a total of 43,000 head of sheep lost in 2012, 300, or 0.698% were killed by wolves. These facts lead me to believe that wolves are not the threat to livestock that many ranchers make them out to be and. In fact, wolves are beneficial to the ecosystem because they effectively regulate prey populations without the need for human intervention, and to the livelihood of the very ranchers who oppose their reintroduction by removing coyotes (the actual number one killer of livestock) from the top of the food chain. After conducting this research, it is my belief that reintroducing wolves to Rocky Mountain National Park will be of benefit to all parties involved, humans and animals
This would create a vicious cycle of the poor against the rich and the perfect against those unable to reach perfection. This would never allow anyone to fight for their dreams or to try to seek a better future for them or for their families. In Conclusion, the genetic technology that we see in the movie “Gattaca” would be very harmful for society and have bad effects on how people live. It would stop those who aren’t born as planned from fighting to achieve something out of what is expected. It would be very prejudicial and people would stop caring for who you care and just look at what your hereditary traits say.
“E- yah! I have killed a panther!” (Benet 405). They also killed many different animals. “I have killed a fawn!” (405). The killing of animals is what human kind did in the beginning of time for food, because they didn’t have ovens, or local stores.
Most ex-athletes are slaughtered or sold to slaughter houses because they were not collecting income or were worn out and was physically unable to do anything anymore. Many other species of horses are being sent to slaughter houses such as mothers that are pregnant, general old horses, and horses that are injured. Many horses were abused and even murdered just to be able to be sent to a slaughter house; because of this face the United States has passed a law about animal
This shows that the society discourages change, which also means no future growth. Unlike in present society where change and growth are considered natural and 'human', Brave New World gets rid of the chance to grow and change as well as the desire, which is an example of humanity being replaced with stability. The hypnopaedia method, which are “words without reason” (p. 28), also acts in dehumanizing societys' people. These words without reason are simply a method to instill the same thoughts throughout any numerous anount of people. Instead of having your own thoughts and own free will do what what you want, you're forced to believe what society wants to believe.
Horse slaughter is no where near the same as putting a horse down, it is the painful butchering of these innocent animals. The sad part is most horses that are shipped out are still young and would have a good chance of being placed in a loving home. These people just don't want to be bother by a horse they don't need so they shipped it off to a slaughter house to be killed. These horses have no way of getting out of the slaughter house alive, as soon as the horse arrives there you pretty much can say its already dead. Before arriving at the slaughter house horses travel thousands of miles with no food, no water, and no rest over a period of days in overcrowded trucks designed
Over half the public wasn’t fit for survival, didn’t deserve to live, should be terminated and forgotten; that’s what the government led to be believed. So it did what it knows best, it eradicated the disease, simply by eradicating the people. Even the news fornicated death. If a political leader was assassinated, first it was discussed how they would pretend he died, “Perhaps a stroke, no no, to horrific. How about a quiet dignified death in his sleep?” –President of the news network.
