All this is achievable by communication, professional growth, teamwork, quality improvement, educational advancement, research, and the maintenance of legal and ethical responsibilities. I believe that the focus of nursing is to provide safe, affordable, and high quality care. Treat each individual equally and according to their needs. My focus of nursing revolves around the patient. To treat them with honesty, dignity, and respect is my core focus.
I always felt the need to care for someone since I know that I have the power and the choice to do so. My philosophy of nursing comes directly from my desire to help people. I wanted to be a nurse because I enjoy being around people in their times of need and I get internal satisfaction by serving those that need help. I remember when I was a child and my mom took me sometimes to her work. I loved going with her and see what she was doing like taking care of other people and help them get well.
Discuss your personal philosophy as a practicing nurse? Provide examples(s) from your experience that demonstrates your use of your philosophy as you care for patients. I will be discussing my own personal nursing philosophy, which is what I believe to be the core characteristics of nursing. My philosophy of nursing focuses on holistic, patient-centered care, compassionate patient relationship, the use of evidence based practice, and community/environment. First, according to McEwen and Willis, holistic nursing is not only concerned with a patient’s physical well being, it is also concerned with a patient’s emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being.
Growing up, I had my mother to look up to. She plays an important part of my decision to pursue nursing as a profession. She has taught me to be who I am today, a well-respected young lady, who strives for practical and do able goals, work for excellence academically and professionally. I was raised to be humbled, peaceful, strong, and tolerant. And to understand different cultures, beliefs, ethics, and attitudes, to endow others with respect, as well with, a loving heart and an open mind.
A pediatric has many duties they are required to fulfill. They assist physicians during treatments and exams, administer medications, and assess and record symptoms and patient progress. When working as a nurse it’s important that you express equality to everyone, and enter each day with the commitment your patients deserve. These are qualities I strongly express in my life today, and would continue to do when working in this career. Becoming a nurse is something I would definitely enjoy, I have always enjoyed caring for others, and seeing that they get help
I am a passionate and enthusiastic individual, who feels that this career path to become a paediatric nurse chose me, because of my selfless love and caring nature I have for children. My children are my inspiration, in addition to other experiences that I have of taking care of my siblings, and babysitting for family members and friends. My personalities and experiences will enable me to work effectively in the nursing field. My applicable qualities include patience, compassion, efficiency and attentiveness. I socialize well with others and I have a great sense of humour.
I am confident of my teaching abilities. I look forward in sharing of my knowledge with other nurses and providing them with the essential tools of clinical expertise, to better organize and enhance their nursing experience. An active form of communication shapes a positive partnership between a team and its peers. Mentoring is an active form of communication and is an important collaborative relationship. True to the nurse I am, I possess the knowledge and skill to be an effective, self-confident mentor.
The knowledge, skills, and experiences that I have acquired have laid the foundation to become a successful health care teacher. I have learned in my entire life that compassionate work for patient’s care serve as a foundation to build on, enabling me to become a responsible healthcare worker, leader & teacher. Being a medical professional for me is my passion for work and achieving goals. The medical field is ever changing because it requires constant learning and staying up to date with current issues.
