They make up the greatest number of hospital staff (Siela, Twibell & Keller, 2009). In the clinical setting, they are the ones who provide the majority of care to their patients. A1. Role of Preceptor Anytime that a new nurse is hired into an organization, the new nurse is first paired with an experienced, trained, seasoned nurse, or preceptor, for a certain amount of time. This time frame is called the orientation period. The orientation period is how the preceptor introduces the new nurse to the organization’s policies, procedures, and environment of the particular unit and hospital setting. The preceptor has a job to ensure the new nurse is competent with skills to provided adequate, safe nursing care to patients.

It is apparent that all staff members value the expertise from the other disciplines when they have questions of that particular field and are uncertain of a particular topic. For example, the staff nurse that I interviewed said she utilized orthopedics and cardiologists most often to discuss treatments and referrals when necessary. The certified nurse midwife stated that she utilizes the expertise of family practice physicians and OB/GYN. Each nurse demonstrated that teambuilding is important because it helps to provide better patient care by utilizing the expertise of the other disciplines and allowing collaborative efforts to resolve patient problems.
That, along with her nursing background also helped when it came to analyzing situations and making tough decisions. Andra had built her trucking company from the ground up by borrowing money from family and using credit cards. While she was a nurse, she took and analyzed what a patient was telling her and used it to her advantage and made the decision to become an owner of a trucking company. She has also become a leader with her people and heritage. Andra the program Rush which involves itself with organizations that work to improve the position of minorities.
I went to the cardiovascular health/open heart unit at Riverside hospital on October 7th to do the research. I also researched the job description which is available on the company’s website. I can identify with more than one nursing theory influencing my practice but the one I most readily relate with is Julia Brenner’s Theory of Novice to Expert. I believe the reasons started when I was a brand new nurse at a small rural critical access hospital. They sent me to a class for “novice” nurses. It was a class that purpose was to further educate and provide an environment where we could voice our experiences. The hospital had a hard time retaining employees and one motive for the class was helping new nurses feel more comfortable and helping us have meaningful, fulfilling employment.

Several issues have been identified from the transsexual issues such as mental healthcare. Some analysis found that gays and lesbians are more 2-3 times to commit suicide as compare to normal person.
